Percy taps his foot on the dock as he waited for Annabeth to arrive. She has to hurry. Chiron is going to come looking for them soon.

He hears footsteps behind him and he turns around to see his blonde-haired girlfriend. She looks stunning in her casual dress. And is that… makeup? "Annabeth, you look great."

She smiles. Gods, he loved her smile. "You don't look all that bad either."

He holds her hand. "Do you have your knife"

Annabeth Lifted her dress up slightly to reveal her weapon of choice. "Yup. We better get going if we don't want to get caught."

He nods and furrows his brow in concentration as he creates an air bubble beneath the lake's surface. "We jump on three. One. Two. Three." Percy raises his voice a little on the last word and they jump.

They land safely inside the air pocket. Annabeth turns to her boyfriend and laughs. "That never gets old"

"Oh. You'd be surprised."

"So, are you going to tell me where we are going?" She raises her eyebrows.

Percy just shakes his head. "Nope. It's a surprise." He turnes away so he can concentrate on moving the bubble. His girlfriend is too distracting.

Annabeth sighs. She likes to know what is happening so she could be prepared.

They spend the rest of the ride in silence.

Small lights spot the night and Annabeth can't help but wonder the source. As they get closer, She can see that they are candles. And those candles surround a blanket laden with food. She gasps. "Oh, Percy. It's lovely."

Percy smiles and sits on the blanket, leaving Annabeth to sit across from him. "I knew you'd like it"

"Like it? Percy, I love it. This is so sweet." She moves so that she is sitting next to him. Annabeth puts her forehead against Percy's and when she speaks again, her lips lightly brush his. "You are so sweet."

"I love you." Percy murmurs before closing the small distance between them.

They spend the rest of the night eating, talking, and , yes, kissing.

When they get back to camp, they are giggling from something Annabeth whispered into Percy's ear. They stop dead in their tracks when they reach the beach.

Waiting for them is a very pissed-off Centaur.
