A response to the 200 words partners challenge.
Straight.
Paul Jackson blew out a nervous breath, and clutched the nightstick in his hand tighter. He glanced across at his partner, ex-partner he corrected himself, Ray Carlson. Ray didn't look at him, busy whispering to one of the other guys.
Paul reminded himself that Lowe deserved this. Faggot had gotten him and Ray fired, had broken up their partnership. Filthy pervert deserved what he got. Damn queer couldn't be trusted.
The thought that he'd lost Ray's partnership made that sick feeling in his gut rear up again. They'd been partners for two years, best friends. If he looked at Ray sometimes in the locker room, looked at his body, it didn't make him like Lowe; it didn't make him queer.
Paul liked women, fucked only women. If he looked at guys sometimes it didn't mean anything. He bet every guy did it, it was normal.
If he felt depressed, sick at losing his partnership with Ray, it was because Ray was his best friend, nothing else.
The door opened. Here came Lowe, the bastard who'd split him and Ray up. The queer who'd made Paul question the thoughts in his own head.
Paul was straight, and now Lowe would pay.
