Triple Citizenship
Disclaimer: I don't own!
Hannah bit her lip, glancing back over the papers she had just begun to fill out.
Name: Hannah Lisa Shepherd
Age: 13
Previous Country of Citizenship: America
(If in another world, previous citizenship is not revoked.)
Hannah laughed as she read that line. Apparently King Frank I and Queen Helen had thought about the possibilities of other people coming from another world like they had.
If applicant is a minor, parent/guardian signature:
"I guess I leave that blank?" she muttered, shrugging.
Occupation: Knight of Narnia
Illnesses, if any: N/A
Hair color: Blonde
Eye color: Blue
Height: 5 feet 2 inches 1.6 meters
Hannah grinned as she remembered nearly forgetting to convert from American measurements to metric.
Weight: 45 kilograms
Period of Residence in Narnia: 1 week
Signature: Hannah Lisa Shepherd
"Well, that's that. Now to decide which one of the Four to give this to," Hannah cocked her head, thinking. "Not Lucy, certainly. She wouldn't even know what it was. And I don't think it falls under Peter the High King's job description. That leaves Edmund and Susan. This seems more like it falls under the Just King's authority than the Gentle Queen's." So Hannah rose, taking her application for citizenship with her. Smiling, she strode into Edmund's study, which was thankfully unlocked. He wasn't there, so she left her application on his desk.
The next morning, she and Peter were debating about the Revolutionary War (again), when Edmund barged into his brother's office. "Peter, I need to steal Hannah."
"Uh, all right…" Peter said, confused but nodding for Hannah to go with Ed. Once they were out in the hall, she asked, "Is something wrong, Ed?"
"What is this?" he asked, waving a piece of paper around.
"Um, an application for citizenship?" she asked.
"I know that! My question is why did you fill it out and why was it on my desk?"
"Because I figured that if I'm to live in Narnia, I need to be a citizen. And it was on your desk because Lucy wouldn't know what it was, Peter wouldn't have thought it would fall under his job description, and it seemed more of a Just thing than Gentle."
"Oh. I guess it is more of my domain. But didn't you become a citizen when you became a knight?"
"Nope. I didn't. Before you ask, I already researched it, and you four are citizens. You became citizens when you were crowned."
"Oh, good. I don't want to fill one of those out for all four of us."
"I completely understand. Hey, Ed?"
"Yes?"
"What do you think I should have done for that blank that says Parent/Guardian signature if a minor? I'm a minor, but my parents aren't in this world…"
"I think that in this case, that's all right. It can't be gained."
"Right. Oh, and I was wondering…"
Hannah approached Faith and Rose. "Hey, girls, you need to fill these out."
"Why?" Faith asked.
"Do you want to be Narnian citizens or not?"
"Of course!" Rose shouted, yanking one of the papers out of her hand. Faith took the other one, and for a moment they were silent. Then, Faith said, "Han?"
"Yep?"
"What do we put in the 'Parent/Guardian signature' blank? I mean, we're minors."
"Don't worry about it. I'll fix it."
"Okay." Once they were done, they handed her their forms. She promptly signed them in the 'Parent/Guardian' blank. "Wait, what?!" Faith asked.
"I'm your legal guardian now."
"What? No fair!" Rose exclaimed.
"Yes, fair! I'm the oldest! Therefore, I should have this responsibility."
The three of us then left and gave the papers to Edmund. That night, Hannah said, "Well, girls, now we have triple citizenship."
"Triple?" Rose asked.
"America and Narnia; what's the other one?" Faith added.
"Heaven," Hannah replied.

For our citizenship is in heaven, from which also we eagerlywait for a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ;
