Disclaimer: Wow, really? Does it look like it? Nope. I don't own Wolverine and the X-men or X-men.

Burial Applicants

Squinting Gambit tried to futile see past the thick vegetation to trace their enemy's approach, ignoring the caressing breeze that ruffled through the ends of his duster and instead focusing on the vibrations traveling up his legs from the enemy's march.

Who could it be this time?

Sentineals?

The brotherhood?

Or could it be the House of Magnus's army of Homosuperior.

Gambit smirked slightly to himself inadvertently tightening his hold on the clove cigarette he held at the corner of his lips. "You thinkin' about running, huh, bub?" A rough voice asked, it being laced with unmistakable accusation that caused her to stiffen at his side.

Exhaling twin streams of smoke through his nostrils Gambit took a hold of the cig in-between his fingers before using his thumb to flick it across the meadow, a faint hint of a chuckle rumbling deep within his broad chest. The young Cajun didn't bother to even spare that older Canadian a glance knowing that the reluctant leader of the X-men was giving him the same treatment.

It was true; a few months ago self-preservation at the expense of others would have been in his arsenal to escape from a situation as sticky as this one felt. But, things had most certainly changed after he'd first spotted the perfect arches of her voluptuous hips.

"Get that stupid grin off yer face, swamp rat." Rouge called out before sliding in front of him. "You mind," She practically purred, taking a hold of the tip of his bo-staff and yanking it from his grasp. "We got work to do cajun," She stated before disappearing in a cloud of smoke only to reappear on top of a sentinel prowler right as it had cleared the brush.

"Wha'ev'er you say mon cheri," Gambit chuckled taking a hold of a card, the Queen of Hearts, feeling it warm in his hand before he sent it flying.
