If anyone looked at them, they would appear to be a perfectly normal couple watching a movie at home. Yukiteru was sitting down with his arm around Yuno's shoulders, and Yuno was resting her pink-haired head on his shoulder with her feet tucked under her. Both bore the content, happy smiles that only love can produce.
However, even if the couple seemed perfectly normal, their surroundings were anything but normal. They were seated in a great purple hall that seemed fit for a god, mainly because it was. In front of them were a cluster of digital screens floating of their own accord. The couple were supposed to be fulfilling their roles as gods and monitoring reality, but each was too absorbed in enjoying the presence of the other to really pay attention to the screens.
Such was the case until something on one of the screens caught Yuno's attention. Off to the side of the cluster, a wedding was preceding, but that was not the distracting aspect. The reason the young woman's awareness was diverted was due to the fact of it being Yukiteru's wedding. Initially Yuno, didn't recognize the woman he was marrying, but a closer inspection made Yuno realize that she was Moe Wakabe, the girl that her Yukiteru had a crush on while in junior high. As she watched the proceedings, Yuno could not help but have certain thoughts. After she couldn't' take it anymore, she finally had to ask her Yukiteru.
"Yuki?"
"Hmm? Yeah, Yuno?"
"Do…Do you ever with you had wound up with, you know, someone else?"
The shock from such an abrupt question caused the half-asleep Yukiteru to perk up. What would cause her to think suck a ridiculous thing? Then he spotted the wedding taking place at one corner of the cluster of screens. The groom and bride had just kissed and all their guests were cheering them. Upon realizing what triggered his beloved's insecurities, Yukiteru relaxed some and gave a slight smile. "Oh, I see. Yuno, that's not me. Wait, let me finish," saying that latter part when she tried to contradict him. "That is a different version of me, yeah. But he's not me. He's never had the pleasure of really getting to know you like I have. I'm sure he's going be perfectly happy with Moe. But nowhere near as happy as I am with you."
As her Yukiteru finished his short impromptu speech, Yuno turned her head slightly into his chest. Even after spending so many years together, she still could not bear to let him see her when she blushed.
Yukiteru kissed Yuno gently on the top of her head before leaning back again. As he relaxed, he realized a small yet significant truth. Did he love Yuno before their brief discussion? Yes, more than he thought possible. But somehow, such a small heartwarming moment made him love her all the more. It felt like his heart had grown just so it could fill with more love for her. As Yukiteru smiled he knew he would never forget that moment despite how insignificant it would seem to someone else. Judging by the happy contented sound Yuno made into his chest, a cross between a sigh and a purr, she would never forget it either.
For as long as they lived.
