"Where are you taking me?" Lily asked as she stumbled along blindfolded. James had woken her up early that morning with only a few short sentences.

"Get dressed. Harry's at Padfoot's with Remus. And you need to put this on." He had handed her one of their old Gryffindor ties and had left the room to make some loud noises. Or finish whatever his plans were. Lily guessed at the former.

The wind blew cold air on them so Lily knew they were outside somewhere. Luckily they weren't moving too fast or else she would have fallen down on the uneven ground by now. "James?"

"Almost there, Lily," he answered in an excited voice.

They continued to walk for a few more minutes and then James pulled the tie off. They were standing in a clearing in the woods off of their house. She'd been here too many times to count. "James…" she started to say but was cut off when the tall man hurried away from her and picked up something from the ground.

It looked like a random branch from one of the trees surrounding them.

"Grab hold," James said and Lily instantly knew why he was holding it. She grabbed onto the branch seconds before the Portkey activated. The sensation was still a little unnerving but Lily quickly forgot about it when she saw where they were.

The ocean before them sparkled in the rising sun, and, even though it seemed to still be early out, there were a few people walking along the beach. Some of them were carrying around long boards under their arms. "Aloha," one of the men greeted before running into the water with his surfboard.

"You brought me to Hawaii?" she asked breathlessly as she looked around them more. It was obviously a Wizard area; some of the people walking around were wearing Wizarding robes and one of them was even walking a Crup - but the tail hadn't been removed.

For an answer, James wound his arms around Lily's waist as he hugged her from behind. "Happy Valentine's Day, Lily."

"Happy Valentine's Day, James." She leaned into him as she covered his hands with her own. The two of them watched as the sun rose slowly over the ocean before them.
