Chapter 1

Rose's POV

I've always hated moving. No, like really hated. I resent the packing, the stripping of the walls, the saying goodbye, the tears. But every single time my parents make me move. They say it'll be good for my attitude. The only reason I even have an attitude is because I'm gay, and I know that if I told them they go all homophobic on me. So they're sipping me off to a small town. As in, if there were such a thing as an ant town this would be it. Anyways I'm going to live with this family called the Crowers. There's 2 girls, one my age (17) & one 14. The mom and dad seem really nice. The kind of people I'd want my parents to be like. So, here I am on the bus to Whakarewi. The primary, intermediate and high school are all the same school. They have 3 classrooms. One for the cabbages and 5-7 year olds, one for the average kids and one for the accelerates. I'm in the smart class. So are the girls I'm staying with. My thoughts were interrupted by a voice crackling through the loud-speaker.

"Okay ladies and gents, we are now entering the wonderful realm of Whakarewi. "the driver droned in a monotone voice. I sighed. This was me. I started packing up my phone that I'd been texting my friend, Casey on, just as someone I'd seen in my moms photo album came into view. Must be Mrs. Crower. And then I saw her.

"wow." Did I just say that out loud? Jeeze. If her face is as nice as her ass then I am STUFFED. My eyes widened as she turned around.

"Yep. I'm stuffed." I mumbled. For once in my life I am glad my parents made me move. I was snapped out of my daze as the bus jolted to a stop and my head whacked into the seat in front of me. Smooth, Hathaway. Real smooth. I thought to myself. And so it begins.

Alex's POV

My theory was that if someone stared at me for longer than the average person would, they were gay. Or straight or whatever. And oh, was Rose gay. I think. Or maybe she was just staring at something behind me . . . . . . . . Whatever. I think she's gay. But I'm not complaining. Anyhow, when she got off I. Was. Stunned. She must have noticed me staring 'cause she blushed and looked at her shoes, Then turned to my mom and said

"Are you Allyson Crower?" My mom nodded and answered

"yeah. I am. And you must be Rose." She smiled and nodded. Then turned to me. My breath caught.

"Hi, I'm Rose. . . Obviously. She blushed and I had to hold back a giggle.

"Yeah, I kinda figured that. But, yeah. I'm Alex." She nodded

"well, then. Who's for pizza?" Requested my mom.
