11.16 Safe House: A dangerous creature is accidentally released into an old house, attacking a mother and her child, leaving them both in a coma. Sam and Dean learn that Bobby and Rufus once tracked the same entity so the Winchesters look to the past to come up with a plan to catch the monster before any one dies.

After getting back to the motel, Sam and Dean immediately start drinking up a storm. It hurt more than Dean expected, one glimpse of Bobby. Because even though that house wasn't exactly a real house, and those people weren't all exactly real people anymore, the sight of his father standing at the top of the stairs (looking as he did in 2008) tore into Dean's chest.

"You know," Dean mumbled, "I'm tired of this merry go round."

"What?" Sam said, already neck deep in his own buzz.

"You die, I save you, I die or do something stupid, you save me," Dean went on. "This can't go on forever."

They sat silent for a moment.

"You know," Sam said quietly, "I always imagined it would end peacefully. Like maybe we've saved enough people that God will let us into heaven."

"Yeah right," Dean laughed. "God's definitely gone, and that reaper said we were destined for 'the empty.'"

He sobered for a moment, and said, "If I think you're in heaven Sammy, I won't try and bring you back."

"That's what got us in all this trouble in the first place," Sam chided, taking a drink. "You too. If I think you went to heaven, I won't try and drag you back. Even if heaven doesn't really sound that great."

"Only if we're there together and there's an Impala," Dean agreed.
