A pretty blue grey she-cat padded out of her den, the bright warm sunlight made her pelt shine as she leap to the top of a large boulder. "Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey, join here under highrock for a clan meeting" The she-cat yowled out to her clan, her calm ice-blue eyes scan over the gathering cats, awaiting her announcement. "Today, two kits have reached the age of six moons. It is finally time for them to receive mentors, and begin their training." She rests her gaze on two small kits, one who seemed nervous and the other was looking at her with eager eyes. "Shadekit, Swiftkit. Can you two step forward?"

"Yes Bluestar." The two kits mewed together. The slightly bigger black and white tom slowly padded forward with his ears flattened, while his slightly smaller sister hopped over with eagerness clearly showing.

Bluestar gave them a warm smile. "Shadekit, Swiftkit, from this moment on, you two will be known as Shadepaw and Swiftpaw. Longtail, you were trained welled by Darkstripe and have shown to be a brave and loyal warrior and are ready for your first apprentice. Please pass down everything you know to young Swiftpaw." As Bluestar finished her words, Swiftpaw and Longtail padded up to each other and touched noses.

"Don't worry, you're doing just fine." Longtail muttered encouragingly to Swiftpaw.

"Darkstripe, as I just said, you trained Longtail and Dustpelt to be very brave and loyal warriors. I hope you can do the same with Shadepaw." Shadepaw padded up to her mentor confidently and they touched noses.

"I can already tell you're going to be a great warrior." The dark warrior had a glint in his eye as he spoke that Shadepaw couldn't quite read.

"Shadepaw, Swiftpaw, Shadepaw, Swiftpaw!" The clan chanted the new apprentices names as Bluestar jumped down from highrock, meaning the meeting was over.

Shadepaw hopped around her new mentor. "So what are we gonna do today Darkstripe?"

Darksripe looked at the energetic she-cat. "Let's take a tour of the territory for today and then tomorrow we'll start with some hunting lessons."

"That sounds like fun! Come on, what are you waiting for?" Shadepaw mewed already bounding for the cam entrance.

"She seems like a pawful." Longtail said, chuckling as he came up to Darkstripe.

"I admire that eagerness she has. She'll make a fine warrior one day." The dark tabby mewed.

"Indeed she will. Would you like me and Swiftpaw to come with you two?" Longtail asked, beckoning to his appreantice. Darkstripe gave him a curt nod and they padded over to the camp enterence.

Shadepaw leap to her paws as she saw her mentor pad up to her with Longtail and Swiftpaw. "Finally! What took so long?"

The four cats made their way out of the camp and headed out into the forest. They first stopped at the sandy hollow, then the Great Sycamore.

"Whoa, that's a big tree." Shadepaw said, awe in her emerald eyes.

"It's usually one of the one best places to hunt." Longtail mewed.

They then went by Snakerocks. "Careful though, as the name says, there's alot of adders, poisonous and not, but we can't tell which are which." Darkstripe explained. Shadepaw craned her neck and saw a couple adders slither on the ground, minding their own business. They headed back the way they came, towards the Tallpines, then towards sunningrocks, then up by the Owl tree and then finally the Fourtrees.

When they got back to the camp, Swiftpaw showed her where the apprentices den was and told her to make her nest beside his, then they both went over to the fresh-kill pile. Swiftpaw picked out a vole for them to share. They ate their meal in silence but Shadepaw didn't mind, she knew her brother didn't really speak much and sometimes it's just nice to enjoy his company.

After they ate, Shadepaw decided to curl up in her nest to try and get some rest.

A/N: Edited this because after the long writers block and lazy slump I was going through I decided to do something different with Shadepaw's story.
