Wanda's POV

"Wanda?" I heard Ian in the back, "I think you and Mel should pick up swimming suits at the next clothing store."

I was a bit surprised, "Um, why may I ask?"

"Ian just wants to see your new body in a swimsuit, that's all." Jared cut in from the driver's seat, raising his eyebrow suggestively at Ian.

"No!" Ian defended, his cheeks pinking a little, "I just thought that at the next hotel, we could maybe go swimming. All together I mean."

"Suuure you did." Jared said rolling his eyes.

Ian whacked him on the shoulder, "Shut up Jared!"

I giggled, "Sure Ian, I can do that. What size swimsuits are you guys?"

"YES!" I heard Mel yell from the back, "I'm getting out of this stupid van!"

(In the store)

"Ok Mel, you pick out yours and Jared's swimsuits and I'll pick out mine and Ian's." I told Mel who was bursting with excitement.

"Sounds good!" she called running ahead. Apparently Jared's "be careful and conform" speech had already worn off. At the swimsuits, I picked out a royal blue, one piece swimsuit for myself ("that hugged the curves of my body" and made me look "amazingly hot" according to Melanie) And for Ian I chose a black Nike swim trunk with a blue camo splice down the leg. Mel chose a pink bikini for herself and a black swim trunk with white stitching for Jared. I tried to talk her out of the bikini (I've never liked bikinis very much, I've always thought they showed much too much of a person's body for them to be comfortable, the person wearing it or the people around them)

"Mel, why don't you wear a one piece? They're a whole lot more comfortable."

"No they're not; they're just about the same. And besides, I think Jared would like this better." She said smiling mischievously.

"That's another thing I don't understand about humans: It's way inappropriate for a girl to walk around in her underwear and bra, but totally fine to walk around in a bikini, which is basically the same thing."

Mel shrugged, "I guess people were too busy showing off their bodies to think about it."

I sighed and gave up trying to change her mind, (she always wins anyway).

(at the hotel)

I came out of the bathroom after having changed into my bathing suit and immediately saw Ian, shirtless and already wearing the swim trunks I bought him. I couldn't help but think, {Dang! His six pack looks sogood!} I seriously felt like I wanted to run my hands down his body and feel his muscles under my fingers. But quickly pushed those thoughts away.

"Wow Wanda! You, you look amazing!" Ian said. I finally looked up into his eyes and found them wide in aw. My eyes dropped to the floor and my face reddened.

"You don't look bad yourself, Ian." I looked back at Ian who now had on a playful expression. Mischief dancing in his sapphire eyes.

"Oh come on Wanderer. Don't tell me you're not admiring this awesome, robust body of mine."

My face got even redder (if that's possible). In my head I had the best comeback planned out, {"Oh yeah! (sarcastically) You're the new, less green, Hulk Ian.}But I just couldn't make myself say it.

Ian laughed, "Oh come on Wanda! I'm just messing with ya. Lets go to the pool. Mel and Jared said they would meet us there."

All I could do was nod.

"If you want, I can give you a piggy back ride." Ian teased

{Ian's hands on my bare legs?} I thought {Nope! not ready for that!} "How bout we just hold hands?" I suggested.

Ian chuckled, "It's a deal."

(at the pool)

"WooHoo!" Mel yelled as she front-flipped off the diving board and into the water

"Awesome Mel!" I called when her head popped above the surface again.

"Hey! You splashed me!" Jared pouted, then smiled slightly evilly, "Now I get to splash you!" Jared swiftly dragged his arm across the surface of the pool, sending the water up into Mel's face.

"Hey! No fair! I didn't do it on purpose you jerk!" Mel complained as she copied Jared sending water at him. He ducked into the pool before the spray hit him, and the splash hit Ian, blindsiding him

"Wha? Hey! I didn't do anything!" he hollered, splashing back at Mel.

She squealed and splashed blindly in a random direction, and the spray happened to hit Jared, who had come back out of the water and was laughing at Ian. An all-out splash fight broke out between the three of them as I watched, laughing at their antics, far out of the line of fire. Ian, between splashes, saw me not participating.

"Come on Wanda! Splash with us! You're hair hasn't even got wet yet!" he called to me. I shook my head, declining his invitation. Apparently i wasn't getting out of playing that easily. Ian stopped splashing and waded over to me. A teasing grin on his face,

"Fine, I'll bring the game to you!"

I squealed, laughed and swam away to escape him, but Ian was fast, he caught up to me and trapped me in the corner of the pool then slowly, menacingly got closer, preparing to splash me. I squealed and scrambled out of the pool giggling. Ian laughed and climbed out after me. Ian was even faster on land, and quickly caught up to me. Ian, grabbing the sides of my arms, snatched me up, tuned me around and hugged me to his wet chest. All while I screamed, laughed and struggled. Then Ian walked back towards the pool and held me over the water by my armpits. I looked down at the water and froze. Suddenly, I was back at the caves, in the river room, hanging over the boiling river. I looked back at Ian with wide eyes, but Ian no longer held me. It was Kyle! My horror-struck eyes meeting his evil, triumphant ones. My playful wriggling became intense struggling as I battled to get a hold on Kyle's torso, like I did the first time, to keep him from dropping me in the steaming river. Kyle didn't seem to try as hard to keep me away this time, and I soon succeeded in wrapping all my appendages around his upper body. Kyle's arms came up to hold my sides, right below my ribcage. Thinking he planned to rip me away from his torso, I shouted,
"NO! NO KYLE! PLEASE! PLEASE KYLE! SOMEONE, PLEASE HELP ME! ANYONE! IAN!"

and held tighter to Kyle's body, then something strange happened. Kyle hugged me even closer to his chest and walked swiftly backwards, away from the edge of the river. I was slightly confused, but fear overpowered my confusion as I imagined other methods Kyle could be planning to use to end my life. I struggled heatedly to escape his hold, and surprisingly he willingly let me slide to the floor. As soon as my feet hit the ground, I bolted towards the cave opening. As I ran down the hallway, my surroundings changed, from the rough cave walls, to smooth hallway of a hotel. I didn't take the time to think about it as I ran for my life, hearing Kyle's footfalls a few feet behind me. I made it to the end of the hall where our room was, slipped through the doorway and slammed the door shut behind me. Locking it for good measure. After securing the room, I jumped under the covers and cowered, waiting for the sound of Kyle trying to open the door. The sound didn't come, just the smooth sound of someone sliding down the door. Now that I felt safe I began to wonder about the strange things that happened. Being in the caves, unusual Kyle, changing scenery? It all made no sense! {I had a flashback!} I suddenly thought. {Oh no! that means it wasn't Kyle I ran away from! It was Ian!} A deep feeling of guilt flooded over me. {He must be so confused, and frightened, and worried…} Tears started running down my face {I yelled at my Ian. I ran away from my Ian. I've scared my Ian.} was all I could think. Then I heard a knock at the door.

"Wanda?" I heard Mel's muffled voice come through the door, "Wanda? Open the door, please?"

I sniffed, dried my tears and slowly, reluctantly, dragged myself out of the bed and towards the door to unlock it. I opened the door and saw Melanie's concerned face. Tears formed in my eyes and my lip began to quiver. Mel immediately embraced me.

"Mel?" my voice shaking

"Shhh, it's ok, you're safe, Kyle's not here, we're not in the river room, it'll be alright." she said in a soothing voice. It was as if we shared a mind again, she already knew what I was thinking. I hugged her tightly as she rubbed my back and let the tears fall silently. When I had composed myself, I pulled back and looked at her. She smiled encouragingly. I smiled back weakly, sniffed and asked,

"Ian?"

"He's really worried about you. And he think's it's all his fault. He sat at the door until I came to talk to you. He's in mine and Jared's room right now. Beating himself up."

A deep, piercing sadness filled me, "I have to talk to him."

"Ok" she agreed and took my hand. We walked across the hall into her room. When we opened the door, Ian got up from where he was sitting, on the edge of the bed. He opened his mouth, like he had planned to say something to Mel, but the words didn't come when he saw me come in after her, he took one look at my tear streaked face, and his face melted into a distressed sadness that matched my own. Mel slipped out of the room to give us the private moment we needed. Ian and I walked towards each other, and met in the middle. As soon as Ian's arms were around me, I broke down again.

"I'm so sorry Ian" I said in between sobs

"Shhh," he soothed, "It's ok, it's ok…" Ian picked me up, cradling me to his chest, and walked slowly back over to the bed, setting me on his lap with my arms around his neck while I pulled myself together again. When my tears stopped falling, we sat in silence for a minute, before Ian asked,

"Do you want to talk about it?"

I nodded, moved my arms down to around his torso, and explained everything. Him lifting me in the air over the pool, having a flashback, running away from him, and feeling guilty afterwards. All while restraining the tears the memory brought to my eyes. Ian silently rocked us side to side all through the story. When I finished, Ian told me the same story, but in the way he saw it. The confusion he felt at my struggling, his surprise and worry while I screamed, and the guilt hefelt at my running away. When his story was done, we sat together for a while, then I said,

"I'm so sorry Ian. I know you would never hurt me… Don't feel guilty."

"But it ismy fault! I'm the one who triggered you flashback." I could hear the frown in his voice.

"No, it's my fault. I should have realized more quickly that being back in the caves was impossible, and remembered that Kyle already apologized for what he did. He wouldn't do it again."

"Well, If it's not my fault, and it's not your fault… It's Kyle's fault." Ian said that last part rather coldly

"Oh Ian! Don't be mad at him! He already knows what he did was wrong."

"But his mistake has caused you pain again! Look! You're in tears again at the memory of what he tried to do!"

I sat up straighter and tok Ian's face in my hands,

"The past doesn't matter, only the present and the future, Ian. I've chosen to forget the past and focus on the present. You are my present."

Ian smiled at the memory of our first night together in my new body, "And your future, if you want." touching his forehead and the tip of his nose to mine.

"Yes please." I whispered, just before our lips met. Ian laid back so that we were laying next to each other, and we kissed slowly but passionately for a while. Then Ian's lips trailed kisses down my neck, then jumped up to my forehead where he left them. We fell asleep like that, and it was like we were back in the caves, but this time, it was a good thing.
