AN: Set just after the episode The Day Ever After.
"Stupid little royals with their stupid little Happily Ever Afters, and their stupid little plans to make everyone dance to their tune," Cerise grumbled under her breath as she made her way to her final class of the day. She wiped a sliver of sauce out of her hair. She had managed to get most of the mess off of her, but she still found the odd piece clinging in hard to believe places. She hadn't meant to tell Daring Charming off for slagging her friend (well, more than friend if Cerise could actually gather up her nerves) but the way he talked about Raven…well it was enough to make her growl with anger and bare her fangs. Well teeth if you were picky, but Cerise wasn't feeling particularly interested in being precise.
She continued her grumbling as she walked through the crowded hallways of Ever After High, not noticing entirely where she was going. The path to her class was practically imprinted in her brain anyway and she was still angry enough to want to avoid talking to anyone. A few people bumped into her, but aside from a muttered sorry, she didn't say anything.
Then her journey came to an abrupt stop as she suddenly bumped head on with someone and fell back onto the floor hard and she felt her hood slip back. Resisting the urge to growl angrily at the culprit, she looked at the offending body to give her a piece of her mind and…suddenly she found herself looking into the beautiful dark purple eyes of Raven Queen. Cerise's angry words died in her throat.
""Cerise, are you alright? I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to knock you over like that Raven said as she reached her hand down and helped Cerise to her feet. Cerise smiled.
"That's okay Raven. I know you didn't mean to," Cerise said with a smile, trying to ignore the tingling sensation that was running down her arm from where she had held hands with Raven. A tingling sensation, she might add, that had NOTHING whatsoever to do with the crush she may or my not have on Raven Queen. Nothing at all. And even if it did, why would Raven want HER.
"Are you sure you're okay Cerise? Cause you seem sort of…out of it," Raven said, cutting through Cerise's reverie and Cerise smiled.
"No, no, I'm fine," she said as she felt her face warm up. "Well I'll see you arou-"
"Ummm, actually there is something I want to talk about," Raven said quickly as she cut in. She looked Cerise firmly in the eye. "Maddie told me that you stood up for me in the cafeteria earlier today."
"Oh that? It was nothing," Cerise said as she felt herself start to blush even more and she turned her face downwards so Raven couldn't see. "I'd do that for any of my friends." Especially you she added mentally and Raven smiled.
"Well, I just wanted to say, thanks," Raven said with a smile that made Cerise's heart beat double time. "I really appreciate it," she continued, apparently oblivious as to the effect she was having on Cerise. Cerise smiled at her.
"You're welcome," she said and with a unusually goofy smile on her face, Cerise walked to her next class.
