Do you believe that love should be taken upon a hateful revenge?

Over the seas, there were an equal share of islands separated around the ocean. Some were closer than others as many were much larger than the rest. It wasn't until people started discovering these islands, coming across other lands to build a new home, a new empire. A new kingdom. It wasn't until a violet hedgehog, sailed over the seas in search for a new world.

The sounds of wind gushing through the air made the violet hedgehog feel at peace as he traveled through the island. He traveled around the island. As he turned around he noticed that the ocean has disappeared beyond from where he was. He stood silent and studied the area around him before turning around and continuing his quest. The sounds of small critters echoed through the woods. The leaves around were as green an emerald. As you take a deep breath you can feel the fresh cold air, passing through your body. Everything was perfect, everything seemed perfect, but would it be a good enough place to bring people here?

The violet hedgehog tumbled into an open field. He leaned over and placed his fingertips down at the soil. Studying it to see if it was good enough to plant something in here. He opened up his satchel, searching inside for some tools that'll help. He pulled out a seed and planted it underneath the soil. Taking out a fresh bottle of water and placed it over the plant.

Out of nowhere, a small twig snapped in two, causing the violet hedgehog to be on sharp. "Who's there?" He called out. There was a moment of silence before he spoke again. "If you're out there, come on out. If you refuse then you've declared this war between us." Nothing. Silence filled the area for a brief moment before the sound of footsteps ran the other direction. "Wait!" He called out. The violet hedgehog ran after the mysterious figure. Reaching a hand out in front of him, reaching closer and closer to the figure. "Gotcha!" He yanked the figure as he tripped over a rock. Shit! He tumbled down, falling on top of the figure, slowly raising his body up from it.

His fingers ran through its soft brown fur over the bandages wrapped around its arms. He looked down and noticed a long white dress, split down from the left side, exposing its brown curvy leg, wrapped in more bandages. She wore a double belt around her waist, as his eyes shifted up, he spotted a soft white scarf, going up to her head as a hoodie. Her gentle pink lips stood out as one of the biggest features, along with her rosy cheeks and beautiful blue bell eyes. She turned away embarrassedly as her short flaming red curly ginger hair fell across her face, covering her eyes.

"W-well, you caught me," she laughed a bit nervously as she bit down on her lip. "Well go ahead. Just make it quick." She clutched onto her fist, preparing for her faith to quickly come. Everything was suddenly still. The wind softly blew through the branches around them and as the brown chipmunk waited, her mind grew bigger and bigger into her curiosity for his actions. What is he waiting for? She looked over the violet hedgehog, staring into his green emerald eyes as he stood there, frozen but completely speechless. His brown scarf fell midway between them both as his satchel hit the ground. She noticed his white gloves wrapped around her wrists and noticed his bandages around his arms as well. Is he..? She inspected down at his legs which were between hers. He has bandages there too! She quickly shifted her focus up to him, greeting him with a warm smile. "Ellie," she spoke.

The violet hedgehog stared at her in confusion. Ellie..? What does she mean? He started at her in confusion for a second before stuttering,"w-what?" The confused look on his face left Ellie burst out into a cute laughter causing him to get embarrassed.

"O-oh, I'm sorry. I don't mean to laugh but," she laughed once more before settling down and speaking, "my name is Ellie."

"Oh.." He spoke under his breath. From everyone he knew, never had he heard such a name before. He shook his head a bit and responded back to her. "I-I'm Dustin."

A sigh of relief escaped Ellie's mouth. She was more relaxed knowing that he could somewhat be trusted. "Well it's a pleasure to meet you Dustin." Dustin nodded in agreement, doing nothing more than staring or should it be said, carefully studying the girl who laid in front of her. Silence filled the area around them once more before she opened her mouth to speak. "U-umm.." Dustin looked at her dead in the eye, waiting for her to continue. "If you don't mind, could you maybe get off me..? Your grip is really starting to get on my wrists."

Dustin quickly panicked and leaned back from Ellie, giving her a chance to sit up as her curly hair fell on her face. She slowly moved it as her hoodie fell down to her shoulders, revealing her brown ears. She grabbed her wrist and started to gently rub them as Dustin turned away. Ellie glanced up at him and noticed he wasn't really the conversation type of person which is a problem for her since she feels awkward whenever things get too quiet, especially when being accompanied with someone she isn't quite familiar with. Feeling as things were starting to grow more awkward than they already were, Ellie cleared her voice to get his attention.

"I-uh.." Ellie started out, "I hope it's not rude to ask but, um..you are one of us, aren't you?"

One of us..of course. Back in our own kingdom, things aren't really what you'd call "suitable" for most of us. You have only the richest and most important living in high glory and praise while they leave the rest of us to do their bidding. If it wasn't bad enough, people around us are dying, they can't stand being in such a place like that and expect to get an easy way out to things. People like us, we're the rebellion part of the kingdom. There really isn't an easy way out. Whoever tries to leave will be sentenced to death, not only that, but a public execution for the richest as they consider it being their own amusement. It's gotten to the point where they'll make their citizens work to death. Many people can't handle that kind of torment so they choose to end their sufferings on their own. Only a few people have been able to make it out alive. Some leave completely but others go into a search for the new world, a place where we can bring others like us and set them free once and for all. To start a new kingdom against them. That's what we are. That's what my parents were. That's what they risked..and now..now, they're-

"Dustin?" Ellie spoke again, placing her hand on his shoulder, making sure things were alright. Dustin snapped back to reality seeing a worried look on Ellie's face. "Is everything alright?"

A little shaken up, Dustin responded "I-I'm sorry." He started to relax. "I didn't mean to worry you." he spoke as he looked away. Dustin was never really good when it came to people. He had somewhat of a hard time trusting them as they were, but it's never always been that way. Everything changed for him right after the accident. He leaned back as Ellie went back to her place and took a moment of silence for himself before opening up his mouth again to speak. "To answer your question, yes. I do believe I'm apart of the rebellion as you are." Dustin shifted his eyes into Ellie's and with a serious tone he spoke, "but I do believe we're from different parts of the kingdom. I can't say I've ever seen you around before. It is in fact interesting to see that you got through the gates. As you know, not so many people actually do survive that part of the quest, yet here you are."

Ellie laughed nervously. "Y-yeah, who would've thought someone like me to pass through something like that." She continued to laugh nervously. "I-in fact, I guess you could say I'm stronger than I look?" Dustin looked at her with confusion. Crap..I think I over did it. Ellie looked at him as she rapidly phrased, "Y-you must be a hell of a fighter to get past the walls, yourself." She smiled big, hoping to get him interested.

"W-well, yeah. You could say so." Dustin replied.

Ellie sighed with relief once more. "Do you mind sharing how you were able to get out?"

"How we got past the gates is of no importance at the moment. We're here for a reason, we got through with a motive on our minds with the knowledge of risking ourselves like any another of those thousand of people who would fail to cross or the very few who would actually manage to get away. We're one in the same. Knowing that we even got past the gates means that we are now held responsible to helping every living soul back in that kingdom for the search of a new world. We found it, we're walking among it and if you don't mind, I'd rather spend the time exploring and seeing if it's a good place to start off for everyone else instead of wasting time, passing the time with some useless talking." He shifted his gaze over to Ellie. "Or would you like to explain how you got through the gates?"

Ellie nervously panicked. "Ah, no no no! You're right, actually! We should really focus more on searching around the area than spending it..talking…" She stood up in front of him feeling a bit embarrassed. "Alright, let's separate and search the island together, that way we'll cover more ground faster." Ellie placed her hoodie back on her head, turning around and was about to head out until she felt Dustin grab her wrist.

"Although that's a good way to head with things," he spoke. "It's still not safe in the island." Dustin let go of her wrist before speaking again. "As we both know, those cruel sons of bitches love executing people for their own amusement. If they're willing to take anyone who tried to escape the gates, just imagine what they'd do to the people who actually managed to escape. They know better than to just let a slave escape. They'll come searching for us and hunt as down. Being separated might be a good lead but for now, we need to stick together. If we die, we kill the chances of hope for all people waiting back for us."

Ellie's ears slowly went down as she felt a small guilt rushing around her body. Well when you put it that way..She took a deep breath and gave in. "Alright, so what do you suggest doing now?" She rested her hand on her hip, waiting for an answer.

Dustin reached into his satchel, taking out a rolled up paper. "Well," he started off saying as he kneeled down, unrolling the paper in front of him. The paper showed a blueprint of wood weapons they could create. "I was thinking we should start things off with having something to defend ourselves with."

"Do you know how to make weapons?" She asked surprised. "But I thought-"

"For a couple of months now," Dustin interrupted her. "I've going around and observing how the blacksmiths make their weapons. Obviously we don't have anything fancy to work with so for now, we'll have to start off with making simple things and work from the top from there. We can make a bow and arrow, find a stone to attach it to each end of the sticks. We won't need any trouble with finding rope. I knew we were gonna need some so I managed to bring some with me." Dustin looked up and noticed a confused look on Ellie's face. "Oh that's right." He cleared his throat before grabbing the paper and getting up. "Just follow me for now. We should find shelter as soon as we can. Don't worry about the weapons. I'll show you how they're made."

Dustin continued his search as Ellie followed behind. They walked towards the center of the Island and came into an agreement that it was best to settle down there. Although it may be far from the ocean, it's their best chance to get a better sight of the whole island in case someone comes in search of them.
