Killing Draco Malfoy
I don't own Harry Potter and crew, that's JK Rowling's creation.
Chapter 1 - The Premise.
Draco Malfoy was so proud of himself. He had finally done it! He knew he could make the transformation, he just knew it! He didn't need somebody to help him, he didn't need a babysitter like Golden Boy Potter and his Golden Trio did. He did it all on his own!
Months of studying and months of meditation. He wasn't sure exactly what his form was yet, but he knew he had one. He'd read all the books and he'd looked closely at all the signs. He'd started the change and seen his skin and hair change color and texture. He could change his hands somewhat - not much different than human hands, but he knew he had it.
He knew!
And now it was time. No more trying to change a hand, trying to change hair or eyes or skin. No, he was ready to do it.
He opened the window to the abandoned classroom he had set himself up in. He locked the door, lit the candles, and turned out the lamps. Sitting himself down on the pillow in the center of the room, he started the change.
He closed his eyes and focused inward. He knew after all the meditation where to look to tap directly into his magical core. He envisioned himself flowing deeper into himself, down the warmth of his soul until he found his core - big and bright and full of energy just waiting to be unleashed. He took a deep breath and dove in headfirst.
Because of the meditation, he was only peripherally aware of his surroundings and how the world got bigger as he changed. He could feel himself shrinking, his body morphing into his new animal form.
Finally, it was done. He took a few deep breaths and let himself feel the new form. It was definitely different. Slowly, he opened his eyes.
The world was HUGE! It was so DIFFERENT! It was waiting to be explored!
And at that moment, Draco's folly presented itself. Having another witch or wizard present when one transformed for the first time was not to prevent the change from going awry. It was to ensure they kept their human minds in animal form.
Unfortunately, Draco lost his his human mind as the animal instincts took over.
