What's this? Sadie's writing something that isn't from Codename: Kids Next Door?!

Eh. I wanted to try something new. And the relationship between Sonny and Chad makes me laugh. So I figured I'd give it a shot. I probably killed it.

My next mission: update When I Close My Eyes. I'm just excited for that chapter as you guys. Is that weird?

I hope you all have a lovely week!

Disclaimer: I don't own the show or the characters from Sonny With a Chance. Wow, that was weird to type.

Love, Sadie

Chad knew, from the moment that footsteps began to sound down the hallway, that he was in trouble.

Three. . . two. . .

"Chad!"

There it was. That voice that had become the very bane of his existence. It belonged to something that was, if possible, even more annoying, and something that he would rather not face right now. "What do you want now, Monroe?"

Her face was a mask of fury, one that he had not quite encountered before. It rather ruined her normally sunny disposition, which was a shame. It was somewhat amusing to meet a girl that lived in the pattern of her own name. "I can't believe that you told those reporters that Mackenzie Falls is better than our show!" Her thin finger poked at his chest.

Ah, yes. The interview. After an over-eager woman had shoved a microphone in his face, she had demanded to know how he thought the new season was going to turn out. A few charming words that brought a laughter from those surrounding them, and Chad had them neatly caught in the palm of his hand.

From there, it was easy to very casually mention that this season was something to look forward to, since it was, after all, much better than the little comedy show that the Randoms had so much fun creating. The rivalry between the shows was fairly well-known, and so the statement had brought forth a few chuckles, and then Chad had wished them a goodnight before retreating back into this studio to get his beauty sleep.

Was she really, honestly that surprised? "I only speak the truth." A smirk played across the corners of his lips. She was so easy to frustrate.

"Yeah, well, our show makes people happy!" She spat out the word and Chad wondered vaguely if her whole life was centered around making sure that other people were happy. An endearing trait, to be sure, but one that wouldn't benefit her. Not really.

Chad reached out a hand and patted on her shoulder, just to see if she pulled away. To his delight, she did, grimacing at him. "Sonny, you just don't understand. Chuckle City, over there, will never compare to Mackenzie Falls."

Her eyes narrowed into a glare that threatened to blaze a hole right through him. "You're so full of it. You just think you're the best at everything."

The statement was ridiculous enough to make Chad laugh. He was Chad Dylan Cooper; he was the best at everything.

But instead of telling her that, he leaned down and dropped his voice to a bare whisper. Although she tensed at the lack of personal space between them, the fact that she didn't pull away did not escape Chad at all. "I'm looking at someone right now who might just prove to be better than me. But we'll see."

He waited just long enough to watch the spread of red take over her cheeks, but after that, he stalked off, down the hall, leaving her standing there. It was all he could do to keep from looking over his shoulder at her, but after a struggle with his willpower, he kept on walking like nothing had happened.

Chad Dylan Cooper? Compliment someone? Not likely.

But then again, that girl back there happened to be Sonny Monroe.

The enemy that he just loved to hate.
