When we first left, I didn't expect the last words to my dad would be, "go to hell." I figured it would be something nicer or at least kid-friendly.

It was the four of us. Mason, Rebecca, Tyler, and myself. We were on mining detail so we grabbed some, some torches, and a couple of pickaxes each and we set off for the west mountains. They used to be one of the most dangerous mob infested regions but since the 4th moon cycle, the warriors have almost entirely cleared it out. But, as usual, Tyler brought a sword to be safe.

The trek was not that long so we got there pretty early. Most miner are very pale because they stay in the caverns for days at a time. Things started getting strange when we reached the cave's entrance. "Alright," Mason groaned, "who took my redstone repeaters?" His look was normal considering this happens to him all the time. It was when he looked past me that his face lost all color in it. As frightened as I was, I still turned around. Close to the treeline was this tall, slim, dark figure with glowing eyes. "Dear Notch," mumbled Mason, "what is that?" And within seconds of him saying that, it vanished. I thought it was just a trick of the light at first, but I was proven wrong when I heard Mason scream behind me.
