"Three dollars and seventy five cents,"
...
"Ey! Those drinks are gonna cost you something chump!"
I look up, seeing an old man with eyes leering at me.
Damn...I forget where I'm at.
"Oh, erm, right,"
...Do I even have three dollars and seventy five cents?
I feel as though my face turned into a fantastic red hue as I rummage through my pockets looking for change in hopes I can find some. The man across me continues to stare at me; in a way that makes me feel uneasy.
It's not his fault anyways...I'm a mess.
Finally, after a century and a few cold stares, I managed to pull out the right amount of change and wrinkly dollars.
...maybe I should take Maya's idea into consideration...I should iron my bills...
I set the money on the counter along with the three beer bottles, in hopes that the man will take it and scan it for me. He swiftly scanned them, setting them aside on a different counter.
He didn't even put them in a plastic bag...though I think I don't deserve to have such luxuries. sigh.
I feel myself smiling bitterly, managing to let out a half assed, "thank you"
He grunted, chewing rather harshly on a blue colored bendy straw...
I have NEVER seen anyone chomp that fiercely on a bendy straw..
Maybe I shouldn't have bought anything...
I found my way out of the store thinking luck would be at my side, but no man can be so lucky.
It was raining.
That's just great.
I put my hands over my head, clutching the beer bottles tightly trying to cover my head...
it wasn't really helping.
but I realized I was wearing a jacket that had a hood.
Haha.
I guess it was just an involuntary reflex. Before, when I carried a professional looking suitcase, I would use it to shield myself from the rain, (more importantly, to cover my spiky hair)
I debated whether I should take the cab or not since my office is only a walking distance away. But the rain seemed to fall heavier every second I wasted, thinking about whether I should wait for a cab or not. I walked towards the curb, intently waiting for one to pass by. As I stood there, a woman and a small boy walked besides me. From the looks of it, they must have been outside longer then I was.
The mother held the boy close to her, trying to warm him up; she looked very pretty, she was a brunette, and her eyes were very attractive, but they seemed a bit sad. The boy was little and looked about Trucy's age, maybe a bit younger.
I thought of striking a conversation with them, but was a bit flustered to even greet his mother.
It was probably best that I did stay quiet, because it might of seemed like I was doing something suggestive.
...well, I was never good around women.

Standing and waiting patiently, a cab finally decides to drive pass the street.
I cupped my mouth with my right hand and yelled, "Taxi!"
The car stopped slowly, then I quickly hustled towards the door.
Turning my head, remembering the desperate mother and child. I let out a small sigh, then handed the cab driver some money.
"Take these two wherever they want to go..."
He looked at me through the mirror and nodded, smiling.
I got out of the car, then headed towards the crosswalk.
"Wait!"
I stopped,
Looking back in response to her voice, she smiled,
Bowing her head just slightly, she quietly murmured
"thank you"

A/N: Okay, okay, I know it's kind of blocky, but bear with me on this first chapter. Hopefully it will get better as I progress.
