Traveling the world as a reporter for the daily planet, was interesting work especially considering that in his spare time he spent the days flying around in a cape and tights, quite literally saving the world.
To say that Clark Kent leads an interesting life would be an understatement at best, but today was different, he has faced countless dangers, both as a reporter and as superman, but not once until today did he have a problem in-between.
The day had started off not unlike many others before, he and Lois were in London, Covering the Royal Wedding for the Planet when terrorists abducted the wedding, quietly excusing himself in the chaos, walked in to an antiquated blue phone booth on the corner.
"What are you doing in here?"
Clark Kent was at a lost for words, despite looking like a phone booth, this quite obviously wasn't, aside from being impossibly larger than the outer dimensions of the phone would allow there was a large control panel and doors presumably leading off into the depths of this Faux phonebooth, also there was a man in a leather jacket, with a strange hand-held device staring at him.
"Play it cool" he thought to himself
"Terrorists have taken the wedding hostage and I came in here to call the police."
"No you didn't, you came in here to take off that ridiculous rent-a-tux of yours and walk back outside in an even more ridiculous costume. Save the day and all that, Wardrobe is through there first left, second right, third door on the left, straight ahead, under the stairs, past the bins, fifth door on your left, hurry up and don't touch anything."
Clark was nervous, not only did this man have access to some impressive technology, but he seemed to know about his secret identity, this did not bode well at all.
"Who are you?"
"The doctor, I know exactly who you are, the last son of Krypton, Superman, Clark Kent, all of the above, but, why are you still here, quick wardrobe, change, LEAVE, save the world, you know the drill."
"The doctor, Doctor who exactly, and how did you get here?"
"Exactly, or minus the exactly to be precise, I am here because I landed here by accident, the time circuits seem to be on the blink, again I don't really think we have time, well I do but not really, you need to hurry up and leave to save everyone so I can get to where I am going."
"Where is that exactly?"
"A few years from now, why are you still here? People, outside, imminent danger, Sounding familiar?"
"The Possible impending conquest of earth seems more important."
"I don't do that mate, I am almost the last of my kind, not unlike you, but if it was my counterpart standing here instead of me, you would have never had the chance to REALIZE that you had not actually stepped into a phone booth."
Outside Clark heard the distinct sounds of gunfire
"Listen Clarkie, let me make this simple for you, if you are so worried about the impending takeover of earth, I will wait here until you are done saving the day and answer your questions, but if you continue to put it off, there might not be a day left to save, do you understand !"
Making his decision he quickly passed the doctor, ran to the wardrobe, Took off his Tuxedo and sped back to the door
"I will be right back" Clark said
"Okay! Cheers! NOW GO!"
Superman rushed in and subdued the bad guys in record time, getting back outside he watched the image of the blue call box fade and ghost out of existence, leaving empty space and a confused Superman in its wake.
Turning to fly back to the hotel to change back into mild-mannered Clark Kent, he noticed a piece of paper blowing across the sidewalk lazily, he picked it up and read.
"Nice Job Mate!, Until Next Time..
"
Clark smiled to himself, wondering when that would be, before taking off to change.
