Dedicated the all the men and women who died that day, and all of their family members that are still hurting from that loss.
A/N: Yes, I know that I'm a day late. I fully intended to submit it yesterday when I was supposed to, but last night was crazy for me and I never got the time.
He still visits Ground Zero every year on the anniversary. Even though it's been so long, the pain is still fresh. Even though he's moved on with Peyton, the wounds are still raw.
He never asks anyone to go wit him, not even Stella- though she has always offered the company if he wants it. Peyton offers also, but this is something he must do alone. This is not a time to appreciate and relish his new relationship; it is a time to remember and treasure his old love.
He is never the only one to show up. There are always numerous families that show up, all thinking about their loved ones that were lost. He knows a few of them by name, and they have all bonded. Their pain and loss binds them together. He's never learned exactly who Marvin, Chelsea, James, Mary, and Kevin lost, nor do they know that he lost the only woman that he ever really loved.
But it is not an problem; they each know that every one of them is there for the same reason. They come to ease their pain. That is what keeps them coming back every year.
So as he stands their in front of those grounds this year, he remembers all the time that they laughed together, loved together…the time they had together.
And it will never matter to him if it's been six years or sixty that have passed. He will always come on the anniversary of her death. To commemorate her. To recognize her. To mourn her.
I'm not asking for commentary on this because it's simply meant as a tribute for the victims of that horrible day. Please don't review unless you feel like you really should.
