"I'm fine Shunsui, it's just a cold." Ukitake Juushiro sighed, trying to calm his extremely worried best friend.

"I know, I know, but what if it gets worse? You can't keep overworking yourself like this Juu-chan!" Shunsui replied looking distraught. Juushiro sighed again coughed and bent over his paperwork not even responding when he felt a quilt thrown over his shoulders by his two third seats who seemed to be almost as worried as Shunsui .

"I'll rest after I get this done" he said finally, gesturing toward the stack of paperwork that was usually reserved for a division's Lieutenant. "You should all probably get back to your work also--If your reports are late because of this it will mean more work for both myself, and Ise-kun" with that mild guilt trip his third seats ran off to finish their work at record pace. Shunsui hesitated a moment.

"Just don't overdo it Juu-chan, I hate seeing you sick!" Kyouraku implored desperately giving Juushiro his best puppy dog look.

"Alright, alright." Juushiro smiled--touched by his friend's concern "Now go. Don't keep Ise-kun waiting!" he laughed coughing a little into his sleeve. With one last worried glance Shunsui shunpo-ed back to his division, leaving Ukitake in peace.

Ukitake walked quickly toward his quarters breathing shallowly. The frigid air seemed to burn his sore lungs with each breath. He slowed his pace as he bowed his head coughing into his sleeve. Shunsui was probably right, Juushiro thought shaking his head in an attempt to clear it. The walk to my quarters never seemed so long. Lifting his head he gave a tired smile and kept walking, forcing his tried legs to continue moving him forward, a bead of sweat forming on his brow.

"Juu-chan! Hey Juushiro!" Shunsui appeared from the corner having been looking for Ukitake in his quarters moments before. Juushiro hadn't even sensed Shunsui's reitsu, he looked at his friend with fever glazed eyes smiled feebly and sped up his pace as much as he could (which wasn't very much at this point).

"Hello Shunsui" he said softly--out of breath as he was, he would always cheerfully greet his friend.

"Juu-chan what are you doing out so late? I thought I told you not to overdo it!" Shunsui scolded lightly as he rushed to help (and by help I mean half-carry) his friend back to his quarters.

Upon arriving he gently laid Juushiro down on his futon and went to the kitchen to make some of the tea Retsu Unohana had given to Ukitake for such occasions as these.

"You should listen to me when I tell you to take it easy Juushiro," he muttered when he returned, but it went unheard. Juushiro had already fallen into a fevered sleep. "just like always, eh Juu-chan?".
