The Fighting Legend
Everybody always says that there's no such thing as monsters. I'm the kind of guy who comes in and proves them wrong. I'm a fighter, a monster fighter. I protect people while proving them wrong at the same time. My name is…Seth Berryman.
You're probably wondering why I chose to be a monster fighter for my 'career'. Well, first of all, I've always wanted to get in some sort of epic battle. I've also wanted to protect other people and prove myself to them. Plus, I wanted to be famous all over the world. This job also pays A LOT.
First I will tell you how I track, capture, and befriend the monster. I hire a translator, that is, if one is needed. Then I take a little trip to the area where the sightings or legends originated from. Then I talk to the locals to get some information on the monster, such as size, appearance, favorite foods, and other things. Then I find the person that had the most recent sighting. I then make an appointment for a trek in the wilderness, pack up my things, and head out to get that monster, YEE-HAW!
I will now tell you the story of my first battle. It was a beautiful, sunny day when I received a distress signal from a small jungle trek business in the Amazon. They said that a monster has been terrorizing the tourists and tour guides for the past month. I hired a translator, whose name was Julio, we packed up our stuff, and the very next day we left for the airport to the Amazon. After a 5 hour flight, some lunch, and a 2 hour car ride through the muggy part of Brazil, we finally arrived at our destination, Jungle World. We came upon a black man scraping gum off of the small brick structure, who must have been the janitor. I asked Julio to translate what I said, "Has anybody seen the monster recently?" Julio said the exact same thing, but in Brazilian. The janitor said something back, and I asked Julio what he said. "He says Lindy saw it yesterday" translated Julio. "Great, now we just have to find Lindy" I said sarcastically. I walked into the building, but as soon as I did, I crashed into a Brazilian lady. I looked at her nametag, only to find that the lady I crashed into was Lindy. I helped her up and we brushed ourselves off. "I heard you were looking for me, interested in learning about the monster?" she asked. "Well yes and no", I replied, "I'm here to catch It.", I said, full of myself. We chatted for a while, and she told me everything I wanted to know about the monster. They call it bulbasaur, and from what they've seen, it LOVES cocoa beans. Then, Lindy and I went to a small clearing in the jungle (I picked some cocoa beans on the way) and I left a pile of cocoa beans in the middle of the clearing. Lindy and I ducked behind a tree, and waited.
After an hour, and twenty losses at cards, we heard a stick snap. We turned our attention to the pile of cocoa beans in the clearing, and sure enough, there it was. The bulbasaur was moving towards the pile of cocoa beans! "Stay here." I told Lindy. I jumped out from behind the tree and charged at the bulbasaur. We fought, and fought, and fought, until I finally knocked the bulbasaur out cold. I carefully lifted the bulbasaur and put it in a kennel I brought with me, but after that, I fainted. When I woke up, I was home with all of my stuff…and the bulbasaur sleeping peacefully on my lap.
