RACHEL

Rachel stood over the oven with beads of sweat dripping from her forehead. She had a bowl of gravy and was pouring it over 3 cooked stakes and veggies.

"Iza, Claire tea" she called

2 girls came running down the stairs one of them with dark brown hair which hung down to her hips, the other short brown hair which sat with a bob at her shoulders. They both sat at the table and looked up at their mother as she placed the plates in front of them.

"go on eat up" Rachel smiled as both girls begun eating "slow down you'll choke"

"no we won't mummy" giggled Claire Rachel's 6 year old child

"you will and i don't want to lose my special little girls" Rachel kissed Claire on the head then turned to Iza and smiled "have you taken your tablets today Iza"

"no mummy" she smiled then got up to her feet and walked towards the kitchen.

"mummy" Claire asked

"yes sweetie"

"how long will Iza have to take her tablets"

"until she's better" Rachel's voice was glum, the conversation was hitting a touchy point

Iza walked back into the lounge room with a glass of water and two small white tablets in the centre of her hand. Rachel smiled at her with encouragement as Iza slipped the tablets into her mouth and washed them down with the water.

That night as Rachel tucked her girls into bed she sang them to sleep like she always did, Iza drifted off to sleep but Claire stayed smiling at her mother.

"it's time for you to sleep" She said

"tell me about daddy" Claire asked

"he was the most loving and kind man i had ever meet, he played football and he could sing" Rachel sighed "i miss him alot but honey he loves you lots he just needs time to see it" Rachel kissed her child's forehead then became a mum again "it's time to sleep"

"ok" Claire rolled over and snuggled into her teddy bear.

Rachel left the room and strolled down the hallway into her large empty room, she sat on the end of her bed and looked at the picture of her and Finn on her wedding day while fresh tears fell down her face.
