This is based on a song I love so, so, much. If you haven't heard it, it's called Animal Divination and It's sung by Hatsune Miku. Maybe listen to it while you read this? Cause, this is a story based on the lyrics. My stories usually turn out pretty long, and long stories are troublesome, so I'm going to attempt to keep this one short. In a way, this story is a bit sad, but at the same time it's hopeful. Read slowly, because I feel like it gets a bit confusing in the middle. Please review after! Enjoy~! ~Meimei

Animal Divination

Miku stopped on the side walk of the street to look in a store window. It was an electronics store, and it had TVs broadcasting different programs in it. One was showing the weather, one showed the latest fashions. But one that caught Miku's eye was the one that was broadcasting horoscopes.

"Virgo and Scorpio are particularly unfit for each other this year, they have always been, and they probably always will be..."

She frowned, noticing that she was Virgo and he was Scorpio. Their tarot card reading had said the exact same thing.

We're just, not meant to be, huh?

She wanted to tell him everything about her, but she didn't know what he wanted to hear.

The only thing that showed they were compatible was animal divination, and that was known to be unreliable.

I just want him to look at me...

She laughed at herself. She always followed these things that were supposed to tell her what the future had in store, but honestly, she felt like an idiot. She knew they weren't really accurate, but since she met him, she just had to do whatever she could to figure out what was in the future for the two of them.

She should be closer to him by now, she had been so friendly for weeks, she just wanted him to give her all of his worries, so they could fall in love.

Did he even have worries? She had no idea. They weren't close enough.

Miku's mind drifted to animal divination again. If she were an animal, she would be a koala. She was a schemer who always wanted to know the future. But there was so much about him that she didn't know, I made her shiver with worry.

Now he, on the other hand, was like a black panther. He was so mindful of others, but he was focused. He was silent, but really nice, and charming. He didn't want to tell any of his secrets. She wanted him to be able to tell her anything, but it would be a long time before he would.

Tell me all of your worries, please...

But Miku knew, she knew very well, that he liked that other girl. He didn't have to tell her that. It was clear in the way he looked at her. And it had seemed like he tried to keep it a secret, too. It hurt Miku, to think that he would rather be with someone else.

Tell them to me...

Animal divination wasn't going to make him fall in love with Miku. She knew she would have to work hard for his affection. And that other girl would always be there, the one who would always take away his glance, who he enjoyed being around, the one who he was so romantic with. Miku wouldn't quit, though. But, neither would the other girl. It was really such a shame.

In predictions, astrology, and tarot card readings, we're always so poorly matched, but...

If we don't depend on animal divination, maybe I can change your preferences.

So, hey, maybe instead of her,

someday,

you'll look at me...
