Adrenaline Rush

Kaito had always liked standing on stage. That raw feeling that you got, when standing there, amazing and mesmerizing hundreds (maybe thousands even) of people at once, making all of them praise you and wonder "how does he do that?" was something he loved. And getting that feeling once again if they gave you a standing ovation.

Feeling your heart start pumping more blood around and experience that uplifting, proud and joyful sensation that makes you feel like you can do anything… It's an adrenaline rush more than anything else.

For Kaito, adrenaline rushes were like an addiction. Like heroin rushes. And it truly was addictive to stand on stage and receive the praise… Every single time before a performance, the magician would promise himself that he'd make his best show ever. And he did, every single time. But in the end, he was only a teenager and did not get so much time to perform on a stage. This made him sad.

So he had a substitute.

Because the magician thief had soon discovered that standing on a rooftop in the night, clad in white clothes (complete with a monocle and top hat), with the police hunting you and holding a jewel in his hand gave him an adrenaline rush much like the one on stage. But better.

He didn't really know why it was better, but he knew that he had started to like the heists better than an occasional performance on stage. He had to remind himself sometimes what his goal was, to find and to destroy Pandora, so he didn't get lost. Still, he didn't know why heists were better than

Maybe it had something to do with the excitement of the hunt, the hunters then obviously being the task force, Hakuba, and tantei-kun (the thief had realized that he thought that a heist was far more entertaining if tantei-kun was there, because he thought alike Kaito).

Maybe it was seeing all those people coming for him, waiting patiently with banners and signs and whatnot, before he made his flamboyant arrival making them cheer and jump. Through all the times that he had gone on his jewel heists, he had only spotted one anti-Kid banner, and that was from Aoko so it was no surprise.

In the end, Kaito decided that he liked the heists more than he liked his performances as a simple magician on stage because of one reason;

It gave him an adrenaline rush that was like receiving a standing ovation one hundred times in a row.

A/N: I like the idea of Kaito getting so "into" his heists not only to find Pandora or to have fun, but also for the rush. Then I thought that I could compare that rush to the one I imagine he could have after performing on stage.
