A/N. Please, please, don't take this seriously. This is just one of those things that I wonder about whenever I hear a story about a girl staying some place for a long time.
Rose did not feel like leaving her bed. She'd chosen the top bunk in one of the inexplicably large bedrooms in the TARDIS, all of which seemed to be furnished with space saving in mind, despite the fact that each one was larger than than her mum's family room and kitchen combined. She rolled over on the bunk with a groan, feeling quite irritated and still not entirely awake when she realized what the familiar ache was.
Oh.
Now, see, that - that, had not been something she'd considered when she'd packed her bags for space and time travel. How could she have forgotten?
It was obvious that she didn't have time to rustle up some feminine necessities before Niagra Falls hit. Where exactly would you go about looking for something like that on a spaceship which was previously inhabited by only a man, anyway?
Rose sighed, not at all in the mood for the awkward conversation she was about to have.
"Doctor," Rose called, entering the control room.
It seemed she'd walked in on the Doctor talking to the TARDIS again. He did that quite a lot. Men and their machines, Rose thought to herself.
"Er - Yes! Good morning, Rose. Where to today? The building of The Great Wall of China? The planet of the hats? No, no, not there. Forget I said that. How about something a little more exciting -"
"I need to go to a drugstore. Or something like that."
"A drugstore?" The Doctor sniffed. "What for? I have a fully stocked medical bay on the third floor. As much as I love little shops, I was more in the mood today for something a bit more - "
"Fully stocked? Do you have like...girl stuff?"
"Girl stuff?"
"Yeah, like, feminine hygeine products."
"Oh, you mean..."
"Tampons, Doctor. Or pads. Do you have any?"
"Oh. Oh. Yes, I believe so." The Doctor said, collecting himself. "Of course. You're not the first woman I've had onboard the TARDIS, you know."
"Oh, I'm not, am I?"
"Well, strictly speaking, no."
"Right then. Third floor, you said?"
"Yes, third floor, second hall, first door on the left." The Doctor seemed as eager for the particular conversation to be over as Rose was.
"Okay...Thanks."
"Not a problem."
