"It came down over there" Koiwai said as the two men hurried through the wet grass, the starless night prevented them from seeing anything more than a couple of meters in front of their own faces.
"Hey wait up, are you sure you even saw anything, it was probably just a plane or something" Jumbo said as he ran behind Koiwai.
No, I know what I saw, it was like a bright meteor or something I'm no expert but I'm pretty sure that thing came from outer space" Koiwai replied.
"Huh, you watch too many science fiction movies we should get back to the Hotel".
Ignoring Jumbo Koiwai brushed aside the undergrowth and pushed past into a small clearing then stopped dead in his tracks at the object in the clearing.
In the center was a glowing green rock, illuminating the clearing in an eerie light "Whoa" Jumbo said in awe as he caught sight of it.
Koiwai started to approach it. Jumbo used one of his massive hands to hold him back "Wait up it could be dangerous".
"Don't worry, It's not dangerous, I just want to touch it" Koiwai pushed Jumbo's hand away and walked forward to the rock as if hypnotized by it.
He crouched down at the side of it and placed his hand on the side of it as soon as he made contact with it began to open.
"Hey man back off, get away from that thing" Jumbo panicked as the rock began to open, the top part of it stated to peel off, retracting around the object. Koiwai gazed at it in wonder. As it opened he began to see something within, small figure. As the top half of the rock retracted fully he could see what it was, a baby girl. It looked similar to any baby on earth except it had an eerie green hair color "
What is this" he began to reach out to it, "Hey, Don't touch that, who knows what that thing is" Jumbo shouted. Koiwai ignored him and held the baby in his arms.
Slowly it opened its eye's and laughed at him. Jumbo walked up next to him and looked at it "Wow, do you thinks it's a.." he pointed to the sky.
"I don't know" Koiwai said as he smiled at the baby, it looked very cute. Jumbo put his hand on his shoulder
"I know what your thinking but you can't you need to hand this baby in to the authorities". " I've always wanted a baby" Koiwai said as he stared at the green haired thing. Jumbo put a hand on his shoulder
"Koiwai you can't, I'm telling you this as a friend, you don't know what this thing is or where it's been it could be dangerous,". The little girl gave a smile at him"
"Look she likes me," Koiwai said as he held her closer. "Look even if you do keep it what are you going to tell people back home, there are laws against this kind of things"
" I'll just say a found her wandering around here she'd be a foreigner which would explain the hair I'll say I found her wandering around without a parent and decided to look after her" He smiled warmly at the little girl.
"Koiwai you're not thinking straight" Jumbo said as realized he wasn't getting through to him. Koiwai had his mind set on this "Okay" Jumbo sighed " I guess you could try to look after it, but don't expect me to help you look after her".
The two of them started to trek back through the undergrowth. Koiwai looked down at the kid,who had now fallen asleep and was gurgling. The bright green hair kinda reminded him of a clover "Yotsuba" he murmured softly " I'll call her Yotsuba"
