"Doctor, what is it with the doll?" Clara asks later as they sit in the TARDIS
The Doctor just looks over at her and smiles, "It just, reminds me of an old friend." He says
She accepts it and just nods, before disappearing off down one of the hallways, and then once she's gone The Doctor pulls the doll out of his pocket and looks at it, a stupid smile on his face.
"Well Rose, I did promise you forever" he says softly, thinking nobody can hear.
He doesn't notice Clara hiding round the corner listening to him.
He told me about some of his other friends, but no Rose? Who's Rose? She wonders. She heads back down the corridor, and enters a room with the records of old companions on that The Doctor gave her access to.
"TARDIS show me Rose," she says
The TARDIS simply tells her ACCESS DENIED and then shuts the system off. Rose special to her and her thief, and will live on in their memory. She is a sensitive case and is strictly private.
Clara persists for a while but TARDIS doesn't give in, because she doesn't think clara has a right to know. The Doctor will tell her about Rose when he's ready, and then she can see the files.
Until then, Rose is classified.
