Mortal Kombat: The Mortification of Quan Chi
Outworld was in chaos. The sky a murky black, thunder boomed and bolts of lightning flashed. Miles off into the planes of Outworld, one could see a bright green beacon, almost like a tornado, which seem to descend from heaven itself.
The beacon landed however in the enormous palace of the demon sorcerer Shang Tsung. He and his newfound partner, the Oni sorcerer Quan Chi, had successfully revived the mummified army of the legendary Dragon King, and were quite pleased with themselves.
The self-proclaimed "Forces of Light" were at the sorcerers' mercy, and were about to make a last ditch attempt to stop Quan Chi and Shang Tsung from using the army to conquer Earth.
As Quan Chi watched Shang Tsung transport the soul of a dead Outworld warrior (whom Quan Chi himself killed) into the very last Dragon King soldier, he smirked to himself, imagining Shang Tsung's reaction when he commands the army to kill the sorcerer. He had only partnered with Shang Tsung for his soul-transfering talents, but with the Dragon King's army animate once more, the need for Tsung's abilities evaporated and so did their partnership.
The army was in Quan Chi's control, as part of the soul-transfer spell Tsung used included the command to only obey "he who possesses the Amulet". The once sacred Amulet that belong to the fallen Elder God Shinnok, Quan Chi's former employer.
"I have done it." Shang Tsung said with a wicked smirk. "The army of the Dragon King lives again."
Quan Chi opened his mouth to speak, but a different voice, a voice familiar to Shang Tsung was heard behind the sorcerers. "And it shall die again." the Thunder God Raiden said, anger brewing in his voice.
"Raiden," Quan Chi spun around with a smile. Raiden, the monk Kung Lao, the movie star Johnny Cage, the Edenian princess Kitana, and the Special Forces agents Sonya Blade and Jackson Briggs all stood in front of the sorcerers. "so glad to see you and your lackeys could make it."
"I give you one last chance Quan Chi. Stand down."
Quan Chi and Shang Tsung glanced at each other. They then both threw their heads back with cruel laughter. "Look around you, Thunder God!" Quan Chi said with an evil, almost insane, smile as he pointed to the thousands of undeafeatable soliders all around them.
"Your are most certainly in no position to be making any threats." Shang Tsung added. "We could kill you all where you stand this moment with mere words."
Quan Chi smiled. Now was the time. "Wrong sorcerer," he suddenly glanced at Tsung. "I can kill them where they stand with mere words." he raised his Amulet in the air. "As I possess the Amulet, you fool. Only I will be walking away from this battle."
Shang Tsung's expression was of pure terror and shock. Quan Chi laughed. "You all are finished---"
"QUAN!!" a thunderous voice suddenly bommed out from the back of the palace, behind the Soulnado. "QUAN, GET YOUR PALE ASS IN HERE!"
Quan Chi put his head down, a frown present on his face.
"HOLD ON MOTHER!!" he suddenly shouted back. "I AM MERE STEPS AWAY FROM CONQUERING OUTWORLD AND EARTHREALM!"
"I DON'T GIVE A SHIT!" the voice of Ms. Chi screamed back. "MY FEET NEED RUBBING! GET BACK HERE BEFORE I HAVE TO COME WRING YOUR GOD DAMN NECK!!"
"MOTHER!" Quan Chi said as tears began to stream down his face. "PLEASE! I HAVE NEVER BEEN SO CLOSE!"
"WHAT PART OF 'I DON'T GIVE A SHIT' DID YOU NOT UNDERSTAND YOU UGLY BASTARD!?"
Quan Chi out his head down. He whipped his face off and then glanced back at the utterly shocked faces of Shang Tsung, Raiden and his allies. Quan tried to look his usual menacing slef again. "Until next time, warriors!" he shouted.
"YOU'VE GOT FIVE FUCKING SECONDS!" Ms. Chi thundered, casuing Quan to drop the Amulet and dart to the back of the palace...
