Coincidences

Meredith was walking through the LaGuardia airport following the signs for baggage claim pulling her smaller carry-on behind her.

Meredith knew from her inquiries that Rickie was doing some work for the NYPD and was actually following some young detective around while she did her job.

Meredith had heard that Rickie was basing his latest books off of her and called her Nikki Heat. "Seriously Rickie, a stripper name?" Meredith questioned her ex-husbands thinking. Still it was likely that this Kate Beckett was tired of having Rickie follow her around and giving her alternate personality a stripper name likely didn't sit well with her.

Meredith was feeling pretty secure in that there was no one in Rickie's life. Meaning she still had a secure channel to get to him. Use his credit card and have some fun in bed. While she didn't really need the sex at the moment, since finding someone to have sex with had always been easy for her.

One night stand after one night stand, just the way she liked it. Marrying Rickie had been a mistake in her life. Still having had the child that Rickie thought was his allowed her access to his money from time to time.

Even Meredith didn't know if Rickie was the father, since she had, had sex with 3 other people in that same time frame. While having sex with those 3 hadn't gotten her any parts, it did get her access to some other people, and those 3 weren't half bad in bed. Even if they were not in the same league as Rickie.

Meredith had her bag and was headed for ground transportation where she could pick up a cab and take her to Rickie's loft. Meredith was actually squirming in her seat and she thought of all the fun she was going to have riding Rickie in his own bed. Followed by taking his American Express card from him and take his daughter shopping with her.

Meredith knew Alexis was his weak spot, so long as she took Alexis with her he would do nothing about it. Meredith didn't even consider Alexis her daughter, she may have given birth to the child, which had been almost a year of hell. It wasn't just being pregnant that was bad or giving birth to the damn thing. It was the months after that trying to get her old body back.

Meredith knew they were making progress. This would be another one of her unexpected visits that she loved so much. Watching Rickie squirm when she showed up and worked her way into his bed, was part of the fun.

Gina was sitting at her desk with her phone in her ear, calling Rick one more time. When she got his voice mail yet again she slammed the phone down and was even more pissed now. Those chapters of the next book in the Heat series should have been on her desk just over 2 weeks ago.

Gina however knew how Rick worked so in reality they were now just one day late, so she didn't really have reason to be this mad, and yet she was.

That flat chested bitch he was following around was likely why he wasn't working. Instead of writing like she wanted him to, he was out following her around everywhere she went like some loyal puppy. Rick had never shown her the kind of attention she was getting, and she didn't even have anything to entice him with. Long legs only took you just so far. If she would just relent and have sex with him, he would dump her the very next day Gina was sure of it.

Technically Rick was late even if it was only one day so she did have legal leverage over him, even if she no longer had personal leverage over him. It was time to wake Rick up to the real world and that there were consequences for ignoring her phone calls, and maybe put a dagger into Kate Beckett's back and force her to kick him to the curb or just go to bed with him and get over him.

"I'm going out to get Castle to finish his chapters, hold all my calls and if anyone wants me I'm out and you don't know when I will return." Gina tells her secretary sitting out front.

Gina didn't even wait for a reply from her and let the door slam closed behind her. "If I didn't need this job I'd tell that heartless bitch what she could do with this job." She literally shivered from the cold that trailed behind Gina that actually got her up and step over to the thermostat and turned up the heat.

Some of the residual iceberg that Gina had left behind had caused the room to turn cold.

Gina stepped out to the sidewalk and called down a cab and gave the address for Rick's loft. Gina was going to rain hell down on his head and put him back in his place and then work on getting rid of Kate Beckett.

Tom Demming had a call and he and his partner were out working it. It sounded like a simple break-in that the thief or thieves had taken a few odd opens that would be easy to carry. A simple grab and flee most likely.

"Will you relax, you're going to break the steering wheel." His partner chides him.

It did get Tom to lessen his stranglehold that he had on the steering wheel and let out a heavy sigh.

"What's with you anyway?" His partner asks.

"It's nothing." Tom wasn't interested in talking about it.

"If you're not paying attention to your driving and trying to get us both killed, you can either pull over and let me out, or you can explain yourself." He had a wife and a little boy back home. He knew his partner didn't even have a girlfriend, at least not anymore.

There was almost no one in the precinct who knew that he had taken his shot at getting the homicide detective Kate Beckett into his bed. It actually looked like he might succeed for a moment there. Right up until she had dumped him. 'Not what she was looking for'.

And yet the writer was still there following her around everywhere she went. He was one of a handful that knew Dr. Parrish was trying her best to get her to see what the writer meant to her. Just based off of all the talk he had heard, she wasn't listening to her or anyone else.

His opinion was the Tom was better off without her. She was all work and no play, it was just sad that Tom couldn't see that. Which also said something for the writer. The idiot!

"Talk or stop Tom." He gave his partner his last chance.

"Our call is in the building where Richard Castle lives." Tom finally relents.

"Castle's place was broken into?" Maybe he could get an autograph while they were there.

Tom shook his head. "Same building just a different apartment." Tom sets him straight.

DAMN, there goes my autograph!

Eric Vaughn pressed the button in the back of his limo. "Where are you going?" Eric wasn't mad just yet. He knew his driver and had, had him for a while now and had proven reliable in the past so was willing to give him the benefit of the doubt.

"Sorry sir, but traffic information indicates that there is a wreck on the bridge that I was going to use. In order to try and keep you on time I'm taking an alternate route and hope that the rest of the city isn't already trying to do the same thing.

If they have we're going to be delayed, just hopefully not for long sir." His driver answers his question.

"Carry on, just do what you can." Eric accepts the answer and turns the intercom between them back off again and goes back to reading his papers.

Its just that he had already read these papers countless times. If he was going to be delayed he might as well put it to good use. So he pulled a different set of papers out of car safe and started going over them.

It certainly looked like a good plan, with these papers being the only hard evidence out there for now, he figured he was safe. Time to see if the next stage was ready to be implemented.

Eric reached into the safe again and pulled out on of the two burner phones that was in there and dialed the only number that was programmed into it. The call was answered on the second ring. "This is E1, confirm that the next step is timed properly for A1." Eric talks into the phone.

Even if someone had managed to bug his car, the combination of numbers and letter would keep them guessing. Even if he was sure that his limo was secure. He was a cautious person.

"A1 is in sight and timing is going as planned." Is his reply, getting Eric to hang up the phone.

If this plan went properly he would get another shot at that homicide detective that he had only managed to kiss last time. This time he would get her into his bed. He got every woman he went after and homicide detective Kate Beckett wasn't getting away that easily.

He was Eric Vaughn and he always got what he wanted.

Josh was standing in the shop that his bike was ready to come out of. Some idiot had done something stupid and forced him to lay his bike down to keep from getting killed and as typical for New York the bastard drove off and no one saw a thing.

Except for it being silver in color he didn't know if it was a Toyota, Nissan, Chevrolet, Ford or any other manufacturer, let alone what model it was. Certainly didn't have a clue what license plate number it was, or if it even had plates. He was to busy not trying to die.

He had already replaced the leathers since he had scratched them up something good, along with a new helmet. He had already spent a pretty penny. $695 for the jacket, $449 for the pants and $559 for the helmet. The only thing he had salvaged were the boots.

Now he was standing here with his bank card in his hand listening to each and every part that had been replaced on his bike, squeezing his eyes shut dreading the amount he was going to hear for his total.

$14,449.34

Josh fired up his almost new bike and revved it a couple of times, having to admit it hadn't sounded this good in a long time. He knew he had been ignoring his baby. The last time he had spent much money on her was when he was dating Kate.

Detective Kate Beckett! He was still hurt since he just knew she had dumped him for that idiot writer who didn't have a serious grown-up bone in his body. It really was all that idiots fault that Kate had been shot.

Kate had dropped her mother's case and he had jumped in and opened old wounds and it had gotten the attention of the person or people who had killed her. He was still furious at the doctor who told him to get out. He was going to same his girlfriend's life and when he succeeded she would see him for who he truly was.

Josh was making his way back out to his bike after stopping off to drown his sorrows after having been cutoff from his next drink. It took him several minutes of trying to get his newly fixed bike to start before he finally figured out he hadn't put the key in its place.

"It's time to show writer baby just who is in charge." Josh talks to himself thinking about teaching him just who he really was and since he was a doctor he knew how to set all of writer babies broken bones.

Finally pressing the button and getting his bike to fire up and started weaving his way through traffic on his way to Castle's place.

Will Sorenson was happy being an FBI agent, and his job in Boston was just what he wanted. It's just that if he was honest with himself he was also lonely. He had put himself into his work and what he still wasn't willing to admit just yet, if Kate had come with him, they would likely be separated from each other by now.

He didn't have time for a social life and would have had no time for Kate, and if she had come she would likely be on the Boston Police staff making her time to spend with him and his busy job even less likely.

Still he had been in New York City working on a case for the last two weeks. They had a lead on something and since he was a high profile target because of his money, they had to tread carefully.

Right now he was in his car alone however he was part of a three member tailing team. Their target was on the move and they were hoping he would lead them to where they wanted him to go. A place that told them he was dirty.

They had a warrant and had planted something on his car that would allow them to follow him and if they were lucky listen to every word said in the car. "Larson, you said that thing would work." Will moaned into his mic that was part of his ear plug that was attached to his cell phone.

"It should be working, it's state of the art." Larson answers back.

"Then why are we only getting static with a little squeal now and then?" Will fires back.

"I don't know, it should be working perfectly. We tested it before it was deployed." Larson answers back. It was something he already knew since he was there when they did the test. "It might be because he has a scrambler attached to his car to render it useless." Larson offers.

Will pounded his steering wheel. The FBI had all of the latest new toys and here he was doing what FBI agents had been doing years ago because it was all they had. This was the 21st Century damn it!

They traded lead and tail or side tail as the car made a series of turns. It was almost like the driver was trying to check for a tail or something. He did have connections. Was there a leak in the FBI? It wasn't inconceivable, just something most of them tried not to think about.

The CIA had moles, not the FBI.

Martha and Alexis were sitting at the breakfast bar while they knew that Rick was in his study behind closed doors, still.

"I hate her grams, I hate her. One second dad is happy and then she does something or says something or finds another boyfriend to parade in front of dad and leaves me, … us with this." Alexis waves her arm at the closed door that her father was hiding behind.

"I hate her grams. I'm going to hate her forever for what she's doing to dad." Alexis slumps in her chair and stares at the closed door wondering what she could do to get her father back. Not the broken person on the other side of that door.

"I know dear, but love is a tricky thing. You have given your heart to someone and you want them to treat it with kindness and love you back. I think Katherine loves him, just doesn't know how to show him so she does childish things instead." The old get a boyfriend to make the person you want as your boyfriend jealous so that he will fight for you game. It was old and it was childish.

"Dad only acts childish sometimes grams, it's not all of who he is. I thought she knew that by now." Alexis had, had enough and got off her stool and went upstairs to her room. Up there she could shut the world away and do some studying.

Martha sighed as she watched Alexis slowly work her way up the stairs. Martha knew her son was too stubborn to call Katherine out for what she had done this time, and Martha never thought Kate capable of this. However this was bordering on cruel.

Martha was beginning to see her granddaughter's point. "This might be your last chance Katherine." Martha tells the ceiling.

Kate was sitting at her desk looking at the cold coffee cup that Castle had probably left for her. It's just that since it was cold that meant he had been gone for some time.

He had asked to talk to her, but the bombing case had gotten in the way. She was sure he was going to say something, something she really needed to hear. Kate wasn't going to offer her heart if he didn't love her anymore.

He had only told her while she was dying on the ground. She was sure that she had gotten her message across, even if it was a little cryptic. She wanted him to wait for her, she was getting there. Actually she was close, really close and didn't understand why she couldn't say the words.

She loved him! Why was it so hard to tell him. Kate had told herself that she loved him several times. Just didn't understand why she couldn't get the words to come out of her mouth. Maybe what she really wanted was to know if he meant it?

If he did he would have told her again, but he hadn't, so did that mean he didn't love her anymore?

Josh wasn't paying attention, in fact he was lucky to be still sitting on his just fixed bike, when he cut between two stopped cars, cussing at them in his helmet as he started crossing the intersection.

Problem was besides doing two stupid things so far this would be his third and final act of stupidity. He had just blown through a red light and was slammed into the side by a taxi that blew through his bike and witnesses would later say it and him just seemed to blow up into tiny pieces.

The accident caused the taxi to drive into oncoming traffic and hit another oncoming taxi, only to have both of them slammed from behind by another taxi. The oncoming limo managed to miss all four of the taxi's. Problem was he had managed to not slam into the pile up in front of him, he had to turn away from it all and slam into traffic waiting at the light.

This crumpled the front end of the limo and damaged the radiator that promptly emptied all of its contents onto the road, helping to cause the engine to stall and never start again.

Espo had answered his phone, and was just hanging up. "Beckett, there has been a giant pile up not too far from here." Epso sounded worried however Kate hadn't noticed.

"Sounds like a traffic control problem, why should we care?" Kate didn't see the point, traffic fender benders weren't murders.

"It's right outside of Castle's apartment." Epso tells her.

This got Kate to drop everything and pull out her cell phone and call Castle. "Straight to voice mail." Kate looks up at Espo scared that Castle was somehow involved in it.

What if he was involved and killed in it. And what if he wasn't killed and needed hospital care.

Kate grabbed her weapon and everything else and whipped her coat off of her chair and stood up. "Lets go." Kate was going to find out if Castle was ok or not.

Kate pulled up short because she didn't have much choice. The road was clogged with cars and 2 fire engines were already here.

"Find out who is involved and make sure ambulances are on their way and can get in here. Get uniforms on clearing out some of this mess so we can get to the injured." Kate calls out, and watches Espo and Ryan jump into action and start directing the actions of uniforms already in the area.

Kate headed for one of the four taxi's not seeing any of the firemen working on it, which was strange since there was obviously someone in it. Kate looked inside and sucked in her breath quickly and didn't let it back out immediately. "Meredith." Kate whispered as she recognized the person that was in the back of the taxi.

Kate started trying to force the door open, but it was crumpled and stuck closed. Kate looked in again and saw that she was slumped over and that she had blood on her in several locations. "YOU!" Kate yelled at one of the fireman.

"I'm detective Beckett NYPD, help me open this door, there is a woman injured in here." Kate yells at him, and watches him walk over to her.

"We've already checked that car detective, both of the occupants are dead, as are the two that are dead in the taxi it slammed into by the look of it.

The driver of that taxi is alive and we are setting up to use the jaws of life to get him out. His passenger however isn't so lucky. A different truck is looking at the other taxi. You'll have to check with them." And the fireman leaves Kate and goes back to the others to help pry the taxi driver out and get him in an ambulance.

Kate walked over to the other taxi that it had slammed into just to look since she was curious.

The taxi driver certainly looked dead to her, she had seen a lot of dead bodies in her years. Kate looked into the back of the taxi and saw a blonde haired woman that she could see the face of from this side, so she moved around to the other side to get a better look.

Kate looked in and slapped her hand over her mouth. "Gina!" Kate's voice was muffled by her hand.

Meredith AND Gina!?

Kate was too shocked to move for a moment, this just wasn't happening!

Kate looked up and saw firemen on all of the taxi's but no one on the limo yet so she started walking for it with her mind in a haze.

Kate walked past the trunk and tried to look into the back, just that like all limo's the windows were tinted dark and she couldn't see inside, so she reached for the door handle. "Beckett!" A voice called out.

Kate stood up and looked across the top of the limo. "Will! … What the hell are you doing here?" Kate was still just a little mad at him for how he had treated her when they were dating.

"Working, what are you doing here?" Will countered.

"Trying to help, have you checked on who is in here if there is anyone?" Only to watch Will shake his head.

"Idiot!" Kate whispered out and tried to open the limo door except that it wouldn't open. "Locked or jammed closed." Kate mostly tells herself. Kate decides to knock on the glass to see if she can get a response. "Hello! … Is there anyone in there? Are you alright?" Kate tried yelling through the door.

"He's in there, my team watched the crash take place. The guy in this limo is part of why I'm in this city. Anything more than that I can't tell you." Will tells her.

"You saw what started this?" Kate now had a witness, a reliable witness no less.

"A guy on a motorcycle ran a red light, what's left of him and his bike is over there." Will points getting Kate to turn her head in that direction.

"Tom, … what the hell are you doing here?" Kate couldn't believe this. Two of her ex-boyfriends are on the scene of an accident right outside of Castle's loft. And where was Castle? Was he the one that was in the limo? But why would Will be watching him as part of an FBI operation?

"You two see if you can get the limo open, I have someone I need to check on." Kate had to know if Castle was in his loft or not. Was he in this mess somewhere.

Kate watched Tom step over to the limo and start working on opening the door seeing Will start to do the same from his side along with someone that was likely part of his team.

Kate had just crossed to the other side of a taxi that had slammed into the back of Meredith's taxi, when there was a huge explosion behind her, throwing Kate to the ground and notices everything go black extremely quickly.

Kate was awake and standing outside somewhere. It looked like a field of flowers with a few trees and a small lake in the background. It was peaceful and quiet, Kate was liking the look and feel of it.

"Katherine?" Kate heard a voice that sounded familiar and turned to find Martha standing there, dressed in one of her vibrant colored dressed with large gaudy jewelry on her neck, wrist and finger.

"Martha?" Kate didn't understand.

"Time is a fleeting thing Katherine, the more you waste it the more you miss out on. I know that my son loves you and we also both know that my son knows you heard him when he told you almost a year ago. You lied to him dear and I never dreamed you could ever be that cruel.

To string my son along and play games with his emotions, I never thought you capable of ever being this mean.

Alexis already hates you dear for what you have done to her father. I'd like to think that there is a reason for you to lie, but I have to side with my granddaughter dear. What you are doing is truly cruel and I think it is either time to tell my son the truth and release him from his hell or I'll force you out. I like you dear, but I have to protect my son, even if it is from you.

I think it is time for you to WAKE UP!" Martha appears to yell at her.

Kate starts blinking her eyes open and see Espo leaning over her. "Beckett, wake up Beckett." Kate feels Espo help her into a sitting position. "Can you hear me Beckett? Are you hurt?" Espo looks her over without using his hands.

"Martha!... What happened?" Kate looks up at Espo.

"It looks like there was a bomb under the limo that was detonated. Whoever was in it is dead now. Along with the two guys that were standing next to it. It's going to take a lot of time to find enough pieces of them to ID them." Espo tells her.

"Castle?" Kate looks up and can't stop the tears that start since her heart was starting to break, thinking that Castle was who was in the limo, since Gina was nearby. Thinking it was for another book signing or some event he was told to attend. Just what was Meredith doing here?

"I haven't seen Castle, and he's still not answering his phone." Espo tells her.

"Find out what is going on Espo, take Ryan with you, and call in more units. A bomb has assassination written all over it." Kate asks of him.

"What about you?" Espo asks helping Kate stand up.

"I'm going to find Castle, there is something I need to tell him. Something I should have told him a year ago." Kate comments softly not caring if Espo heard any word of it.

Kate went inside the building and took the elevator up to the top floor.

Meredith was dead, along with Gina, Will and Tom, along with whoever else was in any of those cars plus whoever was on that motorcycle. Kate knew she had screwed up, she just wished she had the time.

Time however didn't wait for anyone. Not Meredith, not Gina, not Will and not Tom.

Kate knocked on the door and found Martha answering it wearing a mask of green on her face wearing a robe. It shocked Kate to her core. She had just seen Martha wearing one of her signature dresses, complete with make-up. She couldn't possibly have changed in just a couple of minutes.

"Katherine, what are you doing here?" The tone of Martha's voice hurt her heart even more. It sounded hurt and accusatory. Not that Kate could blame her, even Martha likely had limits and Kate knew she had exceeded that time for all of them most likely. Especially Alexis, she was likely going to have a battle with her for her trust again.

"Is Castle here Martha, I really need to see him. There is something I really need to tell him." Kate tries to explain.

"You should probably go home Katherine, I don't think there is anyone here that wants to talk to you." Martha's tone and words were like a dagger straight into her heart and it actually physically hurt.

"I'm sorry Martha, really very sorry. I know I've done things to make me not welcome here. I wasn't trying to hurt anyone, I was just, … I was a coward Martha. I couldn't afford to lose Castle so I told myself that lying was the only way to keep him.

I love him too much to lose him. I talked myself into being a coward. I know he told me that he loved me. It's just that I was on the ground dying. I didn't know if he meant it since he never told me again.

I told myself that if he couldn't tell me again that he didn't mean it, even if I already did love him. I've been trying for months to get him to tell me again that he loved me. Something that would make it real, but he never did." Kate pleads with Martha, if she couldn't get past Martha, she would never get another chance at talking to Castle. And with Alexis hating her, she was never going to get another one.

One last thing to try. "He knows I lied, doesn't he? … You know that I lied about not remembering.

Please Martha, I just want to talk to him. He at least needs to know that I do love him, even if he doesn't want anything to do with me anymore. … I deserve it. I've made a mess of my life, I don't mean to drag Rick down into my hell with me.

If he tells me to leave, I'll leave and not interfere in your lives again. … I just want to talk to him." Kate makes her last plead, knowing if Martha sends her away that's it for her, for them.

Kate can see the emotions play across the face of Martha, even under all of that green on her face. Whatever that stuff is.

Kate puts all of her pleading into the look she has on her face. Martha has her future in her hands.

"You leave when he tells you to." Martha demands of Kate.

"I swear Martha." Kate crossed her heart.

"He's in his study, he hasn't left it since he got home." Martha tells her and opens the door wide and steps out of the way.

Kate felt her heart soar at those words. That meant it wasn't Castle in that limo.

It is now one year later:

Kate was looking out through the windows of the loft at the building wearing just a robe that was partially open allowing anyone who was looking a peek at what was under it.

Kate was lost in thought. It had taken a long time to clean up the mess that was right outside these windows. So many people in their lives was gone.

Alexis had lost her mother and Kate had done everything she could to make it all up to Alexis and do her very best to act like her mother should have all these years.

Gina was gone and Rick was now working with someone else from Black Pawn, not that, that stopped any of the Nikki Heat books from being published. Tom, Josh, Will and Eric were also gone.

It seemed all roads ended at Rick's loft that day. Kate moved her hand under her robe and rubbed the area of her stomach, knowing that there was life down there. She wasn't showing yet and likely wouldn't for weeks still. Still it brought a smile to her face.

Kate had learned from Gates that the FBI had been investigating Eric Vaughn and still were. It's just that they were being tight lipped about it. Still Kate was told that things were going to come to a head soon and she and her family should be prepared for it.

Her family. It got Kate to start smiling. "I have a family mom, and I love them so very much and I almost threw it all away." Kate was at a point in her life where she didn't understand just what she had been so scared about.

This was how you were supposed to live. Kate was still looking out while rubbing her stomach when suddenly a pair of hands covered over her hand and felt Rick pull her into his body. "Morning Mrs. Castle." Rick whispered into her ear.

It got Kate to start to smile wide. Mrs. Castle! They had only been married yesterday, after a mad dash to get a divorce from someone she didn't think she had actually married in Las Vegas. Kate had panicked instantly when she had found out. It was the perfect opening for Rick to leave her. But he didn't, he even helped her get a divorce and ended up married again only days later. Only this time she was married because she wanted to be married.

Kate leaned back into Rick. "Morning Mr. Beckett." Kate teased, feeling Rick nibble on her ear, gaining Rick a low moan from her. He kept that up much longer and she was going to drag him back to their bedroom and ravish him again, even after all that they had done last night.

"What are you out here thinking about?" Rick questions.

"Just remembering what happened right out there a year ago." Kate tells him honestly since a year ago she had promised to always tell him the truth from now on. She had made enough mistakes in her life.

"The moment when I finally came to my senses, and the long road it took for Alexis to trust me again. I was so sure I had screwed everything up with all my issues. I'm still amazed that she trusts me." Kate tells him.

"We've had a few hurdles for us to overcome." Rick had to admit. Rick's own secret had been hard on them but they had gotten passed it eventually. They both still wondered if Mr. Smith really was dead, they couldn't help but wonder if he had faked his own death.

"Hurdles, … You have a funny view of Mt. Everest being a simple hurdle." Kate chuckles and turns her head to kiss him quickly.

"I love a challenge." Rick offers.

"Lucky me." Kate kisses him again, and took his hand and guided him back to their bed where she ravished him till he was left sleeping in their bed.

Kate came out of their bedroom barely dressed and found Alexis sitting on the sofa watching TV which was on a commercial break at the moment. "Hi Alexis." Kate sat down next to her and kissed her head.

"Hi Kate." Alexis smiled at her. "You two still leaving for your honeymoon next week?" Alexis knew they would, but just wanted to make sure.

"Three weeks on a island that only has the two of us on it." Kate moaned at the thought of what they were going to do there for three whole weeks with no neighbors and no chance of having visitors either.

Kate made a mental note of taking lots and lots of sunscreen with her. There were parts of her that hadn't seen the light of day in a long time. Three solid weeks of not wearing so much as a Brazil bikini.

"Don't moan like that Kate. The pictures of what you two will be doing are going to permanently scare my brain." Alexis teased, privately she was happy that Kate and her dad were happy. She just never thought they would get to this point.

"And how is my little bother or sister?" They had told everyone that she was pregnant at the wedding yesterday, thought Martha, Alexis and her dad had been told as soon as they knew.

Kate rubbed her tummy. "So far so good. I'm praying that the morning sickness doesn't start until after we get back. Spending parts of my honeymoon bent over worshiping the porcelain god doesn't sound appealing." Kate made a face of discuss to prove her point.

Alexis was all set to make a comment when she started reading the headline that had started running across the bottom of the TV screen. "MOM!"

That got Kate to look at Alexis shocked since Alexis had never called her that, ever. Only to see Alexis pointing at the TV.

"Breaking news. The FBI has announced that their investigation of the deceased billionaire Eric Vaughn has culminated in the arrest of New York Senator William H. Bracken for murder, conspiracy to commit murder, possession of drugs with intent to sell, money laundering and tax evasion. The death of Johanna Beckett mother of recently married Mrs. Katherine Castle is one of the cases being investigated. More at noon news coverage."
