Hey there, so this is another one-shot revolving around Beca this time. It deals with rape and is quite graphic so I suggest you just stop reading there if you're under 16 or just uncomfortable with this. I might add a few more chapters to this if you like this first draft. For the moment it's pure friendship between Beca and Chloe but it might evolve into Bechloe later, I don't know. I have never gone through rape or anything even close to it. I have tried to treat the subject subtly and realistically, based on what I heard from victims of sexual assault. If anyone finds this offending, just know that I'm sorry and that I didn't mean to. Anyway, I hope you'll enjoy it. Feel free to review, it's really inspiring and it keeps me going. I haven't had much feedback on my first stories here either so I'd appreciate if you'd take a look.

When Beca regained consciousness, it took her a moment to recall the events that had occurred just minutes earlier. Her brain was pounding in her skull as though wanting to escape her body. It was dark around the lawn and the grass under her was covered in dew, dampening her jacket, her hair and the side of her face. Or maybe those were tears on her cheeks. She couldn't remember if she had cried. When she tried to sit up, however, a searing pain hit her stomach, clenching her muscles all the way up to her throat and threatening to make her puke. She involuntarily let out a small whimper and felt around her for her phone. Finally, her hand came in contact with the reassuring item but by the dim light of the nearest street lamp, she saw that the screen was black and shattered. The bastard had probably crushed it on purpose before running away. Beca cursed to herself, her voice hoarse from all the screaming she had done earlier. Tears were threatening to escape her eyes once again but Beca wiped them off before they could run down her cheeks. Now was not the time to cry, she thought. Her priority was to go to a safe place. Her dorm was on the other side of the campus, it was freezing and she definitely didn't want Kimmy-Jin to see her like this. She would have asked Chloe to pick her up but now that her phone had died, she was left by herself. Fortunately, the apartment the redhead shared with Aubrey was only a few buildings from where she was. Beca took a deep breath before pushing herself up on her feet with a groan. She managed to stand despite the pain that was coursing through her body. Her legs were unsteady and numb but they supported her anyways.

She was walking with much effort across the lawn, her eyes focused on the spot of neon light indicating the entrance of Chloe and Aubrey's building. She was sore everywhere but mostly between her legs and that pain in that particular place reminded her of him. Beca couldn't take her mind off that guy and the disgusting stickiness she could feel between her thighs. She wanted nothing more than a shower and a bed, and any way she could find to forget that awful night.

Beca's thoughts were unclear and hazy when she reached the door of the building. She quickly dialed her friend's apartment number and after a short silence, Chloe's voice answered.

'Yup? Who's it?' The redhead asked through the intercom.

'Chloe, it's Beca. Please let me in.' She said, trying to keep her voice calm and steady, even though her mind was racing.

A shrill 'beep' echoed in the silence of the night, indicating that the door was open. Beca entered the building and dragged herself up the stairs leading to the second floor. Her whole body was aching yet it seemed that she was moving without thinking about her steps. By the time she reached Chloe and Aubrey's floor, she was feeling faint and nauseous. The light was brighter there and it took a moment for her eyes to adjust. Her forehead felt like it was about to split open and her thighs were burning. She leant against the wall for a few seconds, trying to catch her breath. The rush of adrenaline she had felt when she had regained consciousness was now slowly fading out as she was starting to acknowledge the reality around her. Why had she come here in the first place? Beca was starting to regret her decision but when she saw Chloe waiting for her on the doorstep of the apartment, she knew it was too late. The redhead was looking at her puzzled. Beca walked towards her with her eyes unfocused; she didn't want to cross her friend's gaze and see the judging look there.

'Becs, what happened?'

Her pants were damp and covered in mud; her shirt was wet and dirty, and she guessed her face wasn't much better. When Chloe's eyes studied her from head to toes, Beca wrapped her arms around herself in an attempt to hide her body from her friend's stare. However, when her gaze fell on the blood staining Beca's jeans right between her legs, Chloe gasped.

'What happened sweetie?' Chloe repeated in a more alarmed voice than before.

Beca shook her head vigorously, pinching her lips together. She felt hot tears well up in her eyes but she refrained herself from sobbing. She would not cry in front of Chloe; she couldn't. The senior took her inside the apartment and closed the door behind her. She had been there a couple of times before: it was warm and welcoming and Beca enjoyed the comforting feeling of safety. When she finally dared to look into Chloe's bright blue eyes, she did not find judgment there; only care and great concern. She pulled her into a motherly embrace and Beca stiffened under her touch, her arms limp against her sides. She felt soiled and tainted and she was surprised that Chloe was still willing to hug her despite that. Though the familiar scent of Chloe's perfume brought a wave of comfort in Beca's mind, the brunette did not hug her back, wanting to keep her own filthiness away from her friend. Chloe pulled back, looking hurt and sad. She dragged Beca to the couch and settled next to her. Beca winced as she sat down, both from the pain and from the feeling of the soiled fabric of her jeans being pressed against her skin. Chloe kept a reasonable distance between them two and Beca knew she did that mostly in order to make her comfortable, though her hand came to rest on the brunette's.

Beca clenched her fist. It was as though filthiness was emanating from her whole being; as though Chloe could smell him on her. She would surely need a thousand showers to make him go away.

'Beca- talk to me please.' The redhead pleaded.

Beca wanted to tell her, but she couldn't bring herself to say the word. It would only make it more real and she didn't want to be seen as a frail little thing that wasn't even able to fend for herself. And she couldn't stand to see the look of pity in Chloe's eyes. But judging by the redhead's pained expression, she already had an idea in her mind. Beca opened her mouth, ready to speak, but no sound escaped her lips.

'Just tell me; is it really what I think it is?' Chloe asked.

By the tone of her voice, Beca knew that the redhead still hoped for something less serious. When Beca nodded and let her gaze drop towards her lap, she felt Chloe tense next to her. She knew the redhead was aching to hold her in her arms but was refraining from doing so for fear of being rejected again.

'Oh my god Beca-' The redhead said, lacking words to comfort her. 'Who did this to you?'

'I don't know…' Beca shrugged with a hoarse voice.

Those were her first words and they showed how little she knew and how little she wanted to know. She wanted nothing more than to forget about this, even if it meant letting the guy run away unpunished. Beca suddenly felt very empty, as though having Chloe next to her had taken a bit of the weight off her back. She leant against her warm shoulder and the redhead stroked her dirty hair gently, taken aback by her reaction.

'It's okay; you can let go.' Chloe said simply in a soothing voice.

Her words were followed by pure silence. Beca knew that the senior was waiting for her to explain what had happened exactly but she was not ready for this yet. She would have to tell her sooner or later, but right now all she needed was a friend. Telling someone was part of letting the memory fade –indeed, a wound can never fully heal if it is kept hidden under a band aid- but Chloe would have to wait. For the moment, she only needed to stifle the pain that was claiming her whole being, both mentally and physically, like shards of glass. The banging was back in Beca's brain and her thoughts were once again reduced to words in a fog. After a moment, Chloe spoke again.

'Listen, I understand you probably don't want to talk about it yet, but I need to drive you to the hospital to get checked for injuries and to fill in a report for the police.'

'I don't want to report this Chloe.' Beca replied calmly but firmly.

'What?!- No you have to, Beca. What if it happens again?!' The redhead said, seeming shocked by Beca's decision. 'You can't just let him get away with it!'

'If I go to the police, they're going to classify my case. When I'm 30 and I've finally moved on with this, I don't want a call telling me to come recognize suspects. If I report this, they're never going to let me forget.' Beca said sharply.

She felt threatened by the entire world: Chloe, the police and the searing pain that was coursing through her abdomen, up to her dry throat and down to her sore legs. She needed to lie down.

'But you-' Chloe started arguing, but Beca cut her off.

'I said no.'

'Fine then, if that's what you decide.' Chloe gave in reluctantly. 'But you still need to go to the hospital.'

The brunette protested. She knew that the minute she got into that hospital, they would send her to do a rape kit.

'Nobody is going to force you to do anything.' Chloe assured her calmly, but Beca could sense a hint of annoyance in her tone.

When Beca refused to go, Chloe sighed in defeat and stood up, her blue eyes dwelling into Beca's with a mix of sadness and resolution.

'Alright then. If you're not going to the hospital, we'll have to look for potential injuries anyways.'

'Fine.'

'And I'm going to fetch Aubrey. She's asleep in her room.' Chloe said.

'Wait, what? No!'

'She's the one with the biology major. She wants to be a doctor so she'll know what to do.'

'But she hates me!' Beca said.

Aubrey Posen was the last person she wanted to see right now. She was in no shape for their usual bickering and she certainly didn't want the uptight blonde to see her in such a state. Chloe was one thing, and it was already hard enough to have one of her closest friends see her this vulnerable; Beca didn't need the Bellas' captain to have one more reason to scold her.

Chloe crouched down in front of Beca, gently patting the younger woman's knee in an attempt to reassure her. Beca's eyes caught Chloe's gaze and her features softened automatically. She felt safe around the senior; maybe it was the comforting warmth of her red hair or the way her blue eyes appeased anyone who dared to dwell into them.

'Sweetie, Aubrey doesn't hate you. She just likes to build those walls around herself, the same as you do. You two are not so different, trust me I've known her for four years.'

Chloe stood up again and headed towards Aubrey's room, brushing against Beca's shoulder in the process. The brunette sat still on the couch and waited for them to return. She closed her eyes and allowed herself to fall back into the cushions. The pain had been soothed a little by Chloe's presence but now that Beca was on her own again, she was more aware of it. The pain in her forehead was from a blow she had received; the comfortable numbness in the lower part of her face was because of a busted lip. Her thoughts were drawn once more to the events of the night and she remembered them more clearly now, as if she was experiencing everything all over again. She could still feel it in her skin, how he had forced himself inside her, crushing her with his disgusting body. How he had pounded into her relentlessly regardless of her pleas, her screams and her sobs. How he had finally come, after what had seemed like hours, before pulling her jeans back up on her legs and kicking her unconscious for good measure. This time, Beca couldn't keep the tears from falling down her cheeks. She felt drained and empty.

She almost didn't hear Chloe coming back into the living room. Beca opened her eyes, bracing herself for Aubrey's unkind remarks. The blonde was still in her pajama pants and tank top; her usually impeccable hair had been tied hastily into a messy braid. Her light green eyes stared down at Beca with an unreadable expression before she smiled softly. It was the kind of smile Beca would never have expected to appear on Aubrey's face, at least not directed to her. But still, she had to recognize the blonde was more welcoming when she wasn't pouting.

'Hi Beca.' She said, her voice still raspy from sleep. 'Chloe told me, I'm sorry this happened to you.'

Aubrey appeared quite stiff, as if she felt uncomfortable or out of place, but still she seemed sincere and Beca was thankful that she had kept her scornful comments to herself.

'You should lie on the sofa and take off those dirty clothes while I'm getting the first-aid kit.' Chloe said before walking away towards the bathroom.

Beca was left with Aubrey; the room was silent but the embarrassment was palpable. Beca was inspecting her muddy shoes with great care to avoid the senior's gaze.

'Hey' Aubrey started in a low voice. 'I know we haven't been the best of friends lately but you don't have to feel uncomfortable around me.'

Beca nodded. On any other day, she would have retorted something but tonight she couldn't bring herself to this. Not when Aubrey Posen was finally showing a more humane side of herself. She just sat there awkwardly and was glad when she saw Chloe return with a red wallet.

'Do you need help to undress?' She asked kindly when she saw that Beca still had her dirty clothes on.

The redhead set the wallet on the coffee table and made a movement to take off Beca's jacket, but she stopped in her tracks when she saw the younger woman cringe.

'Don't, please.' She pleaded, her heart racing. 'I'm disgusting.'

Chloe and Aubrey gave each other helpless looks before the blonde continued cautiously.

'Beca, you have to take your clothes off in order for us to check for potential damage.' She said gently, not wanting to rush her.

Beca was shaking. She knew she had to, she just couldn't bring herself to display her tainted body. She felt awfully disgusting and ashamed of her own skin. Chloe and Aubrey looked sympathetic but sad as Beca's thoughts were probably written on her face.

'You refused to let me take you to the hospital Becs.' Chloe said tentatively. 'I'm sorry but we have to do this for your own sake. We won't judge you I promise. What you've been through is terrible and it is not your fault. If anyone has to feel disgusting, it's certainly not you.'

Aubrey nodded in support, smiling softly at Beca. Chloe gently took the jacket off the brunette's shoulders and the younger woman pulled her shirt off, covering her chest with it for a few seconds before tossing it aside and revealing her bare stomach. Beca heard Chloe inhale sharply next to her, but the redhead was polite enough not to comment on what she saw. Beca was discovering the bruises alongside the two seniors: the right side of her stomach was a funny shade of blue where the assailant had kicked her several times. The color contrasted with the paleness of her skin but she knew it would be worse the next day. Beca unbuttoned her jeans and paused hesitantly before pulling them down her legs where it was even worse.

Her knickers were stained with blood from the assault, and her inner thighs were sticky with a mix of bodily fluids that probably weren't hers, for the most part. Beca wanted to throw up. She was aware of Chloe and Aubrey's shocked looks before they quickly averted their eyes so that she would not feel ashamed. This body didn't feel like hers anymore. Everything about it was sickening now. She wanted to scrub herself raw to retrieve the sensation of cleanliness. Scratch marks were marring her thighs and hips, where he had gripped her so tightly. There was still blood in places where his nails had dug into her skin while he fucked her. Beca wanted to put her clothes back on to keep it all hidden, but she knew she needed to be checked up. She shut out her brain as she lay down on the couch, mentally thanking Chloe and Aubrey for their tact.

The redhead sat cross-legged on the carpet next to Beca as Aubrey went to search in the red wallet for what she needed. The blonde cleared her throat, obviously trying to stay calm despite her shaking hands, and leant over the younger woman. She started applying a cold liquid that smelled of disinfectant on the many thin cuts that ran on Beca's legs and hips. The brunette shuddered under her touch and kept staring blankly at the ceiling, searching for Chloe's hand next to her. When she found it, she squeezed it tightly, asking for support; Chloe's other hand automatically went up to stroke the brunette's hair and she started humming randomly to her ear. The disinfectant was stinging a little but Aubrey was quickly done with it, the scratches on Beca's thighs being mostly superficial.

The brunette nodded when she asked for permission to touch her stomach where there were bruises, and Aubrey gently felt around for potential broken ribs. According to the older woman's look of relief, she found none. She then quickly cleaned off the blood on her temple to reveal the damage, and applied a cream on the wound to trigger the healing process. Aubrey's eyes were focused on what she was doing, she looked very professional and Beca guessed she was not used to that much proximity between them two either.

'Does it hurt anywhere else?' She asked.

In my brain, Beca thought, but it was not something Aubrey could really do much about. She was still very sore between her legs but she was too embarrassed to say it, although the senior forestalled it the minute the idea emerged in Beca's head.

'I can't really check for internal damage,' Aubrey said as if on cue. 'but I think you should rest and wait until the pain wears off. It should already be better tomorrow. If not, then I suggest you go to the doctor's to check for lesions.'

Beca nodded and sat up in the couch, relieved that it was already over. She thanked Aubrey, forcing a smile on her mouth, and picked up her dirty clothes from the floor.

'Are you on the pill?' The blonde asked.

Aubrey's question caught Beca off guard: she had not thought about that at all; Her main worry had been the injuries but she hadn't realized the overall possibilities. The brunette shook her head.

'I'll go get you Plan B at the drugstore first thing in the morning.'

Beca could never thank her enough for that. She really hoped the emergency contraception would prevent any pregnancy, because after all, the guy who had assaulted her had not used protection and she was definitely not ready to bear the consequences.

'Can I take a shower?' She asked in a dry voice.

'Of course!' Chloe replied. 'I'll go get you some clothes'.

With that, the redhead dashed to her room. Beca glanced up at the clock in the living-room: it was 1.30 in the morning. She didn't have a clue how much time had passed since she had decided to come here but it felt as though every minute was stretching painfully. Chloe came back with blue pajama pants, a long-sleeved top and a bathrobe, and Beca exited the living-room.

Having the warm water wash away the events of the night felt really nice. Beca scrubbed her skin until it was almost shining with cleanliness and scraped her hair thoroughly, determined to get rid of his DNA on her. She felt as if she could never be clean enough, but she eventually stepped out of the shower to dry herself up and put on Chloe's fresh bed clothes which smelled of strawberry. When Beca came out of the bathroom minutes later, Chloe and Aubrey were sitting together on the couch, talking in hushed voices.

'Oh hey, feel any better?' Chloe asked with a smile when she saw the younger woman coming in.

'Yes thank you for everything' Beca said with a smile as she sat next to them.

Aubrey handed her a cup of hot chocolate. The three of them sat there in silence, wondering what they should do.

'So do you want to go to sleep now or do you feel like staying up a little?' The redhead asked.

'Actually I'm exhausted, but I don't know if I can sleep.' Beca shrugged hesitantly. 'But you two should totally go to bed. Aubrey I'm sorry I interrupted your night.'

'Oh it doesn't matter, you needed help! And I was barely dozing when Chloe woke me up.'

Beca leaned closer, snuggling against Chloe's shoulder. The redhead's arm came to rest protectively against hers. She felt safe in this place and it seemed to her that a long time had passed since she had woken up in the middle of the lawn, shattered and lost. Of course she still felt like this but she knew that now she had found her friends, she was on her way towards something better. Beca shuddered under Chloe's arm. Maybe she would tell them tomorrow or the day after.

'You'll be fine.' Chloe said with a soft smile.

The three women huddled together in silence for most of the night.
