"Korra, remind me again why you're dragging us through a swamp?" Mako frowned as they continued making their way through knee deep water, with the kind of mud at the bottom that delights in stealing shoes. Bolin wasn't having as tough a time, as he simply bent the mud.

Korra turned and smiled at them, unsurprisingly she seemed unaffected by the water and mud-being the Avatar did have it's perks after all. "Come on! We haven't hung out in awhile and I know that's my fault since I've been traveling with Asami… I'm sorry I haven't been around much, even after we came back I was distant." Korra began to trail off as she thought about the distance that spanned between her and the brothers.

Bolin smiled brightly at her, as he moved in for a hug. "Aww Korra, don't worry about it! You're here now and that's what counts! We completely understand that you needed time away from everything and, well, some, uhh… alone time with Asami." Bolin blushed slightly before quite quickly asking, "How's that going by the way?"

Hugging Bolin back, Korra swiftly tried to hide her blush and failed, as the brothers smiled. "It's going great!" She awkwardly smiled and mentally searched for another subject.

Bolin suddenly got a contemplative look on his face and he turned to his brother and asked, "Mako? You went out with Asami and then Korra and then kinda Asami again when you and Korra had that huge fight-the one where she lost her memory soon after-but now Korra and Asami-or Korrasami if you prefer-are together. Do you think you turned them towards each other or-?"

"Bolin!" Mako trudged over as his brother had been talking and clapped a hand over his mouth. Mako glared at Bolin before simply saying, "No." Bolin started to try saying something under Mako's hand, but it was soon drowned out by the sound of Korra's laughter. The brothers looked over at her in confusion before looking back to each other. It wasn't long before all of them were laughing.

"I've missed you guys." Korra smiled as she said this. Looking at the both of them fondly.

"Group hug!" Bolin suddenly grabbed Korra and Mako and brought them into a forced hug.

After a few moments of being uncomfortably hugged, Mako broke free and asked again, "Enough. Korra what are we actually doing here?"

Breaking free from Bolin herself, Korra replied, "Well… I thought it'd be fun."

He narrowed his eyes in response, "Fun how?"

Bolin suddenly started jumping up and down, splashing water all over the others, earning him dark looks. "Oh! Oh oh oh oh! Are we here to see Toph? She still lives here right? This is where she said she was returning to? I'd love to meet her again!"

Korra smiled slightly as she waterbended the splashed water off herself and Mako, "Well actually… No we aren't." Bolin's expression fell immediately at that. "We're here because The Swamp can give people visions and I thought it'd be fun to see if we get any!"

Bolin looked intrigued at this, while Mako simply gave her his 'I don't believe what you're saying' look.

"Visions." Mako deadpanned.

"Yep!" Korra replied, popping the 'p.'

Mako sighed at this and shook his head. "Of course. Visions."

"Hey! Don't knock it off as fake quite yet! Aang came here and had a vision of Toph and Katara saw her mother." Korra replied, slightly indignantly.

He raised and eyebrow at this, but didn't have a chance to reply before Bolin interrupted.

"Well then! How do we get them?" Bolin asked rather eagerly.

Korra rubbed her neck and gave them a sheepish look. "Well… I don't exactly know… I think we just wander around. Which is what we've been doing… Wait!"

"What?!" Bolin and Mako asked at the same time.

"We need to split up!" Korra exclaimed as she grinned triumphantly. The brothers simply stared at her, willing her to explain more. "When Aang, Katara and Sokka came here, everyone got split up and I bet that's the only way! Besides, if it takes too long I can find you through the vines."

Korra and Bolin were grinning at Mako, knowing that he'd give in eventually… which he did.

Sighing, Mako replied, "Fine! Korra be sure to find us by sunset. I really don't feel like being in this place when it's dark."

Korra grinned. "Sounds like a plan! See you all in a few hours! Hope you get some neat visions."

They all looked at each other once more before setting off in opposite directions.

It was about an hour before sunset, before Mako saw anything. He had been getting more and more frustrated and was doubting, when he caught a glimmer out of the corner of his eye. Turning quickly he noticed there was a man standing not too far away, slightly behind a tree. Even from this distance, Mako could tell the man was scowling and was dressed very finely.

"Uh, hello?" Mako hesitantly asked and walked towards the figure. As he drew closer, it was obvious who this person was. Mako had seen his picture several times over the years in his history books. His eyes widened in shock and horror.

Mako managed to finally stutter out a few words. "F-f-fire L-lord Ozai?"

The apparition sneered down at him in disgust and replied as if he would rather smite Mako with lightning than speak with him. "I must say you are very disappointing. At the very least you bend the one true element, and as such, better than the filth you call a brother."

Mako became very confused and insulted at this and began to reply, only to be interrupted by Ozai.

"Your mother sullied herself and her bloodline when she married the dirt that was your father. Not that it was impeccable to began with, but being of me helped purify what she got from her mother slightly. I had to get rid of her mother of course when she told me she was pregnant. She thought I'd be pleased." Ozai scoffed at this point and pointedly ignored Mako's furious expression as he continued. "She was crazy of course. How could I find her useful when she showed?"

At that Mako exploded. "You are sick! You cannot be saying that I am related and by extension my brother, to the worst war criminal in history! You insulted my entire family in the last five minutes alone. I cannot be related to such a person! It's impossible! I would've been told! I-"

"Stop speaking boy. I don't know why the spirits sent me to you, only that they instructed me to tell you this. And if I'm not mistaken, you lost your traitor mother in an accident when you were quite young. Her companion died along with her, and you were on the streets. Who would've told you? You're quite unintelligent aren't you? A pity."

Ozai looked unaffected at Mako's ranting and raving and it made him even angrier. Mako yelled in frustration before blasting fire at Ozai's apparition, dissipating it.

He was still breathing heavily when Korra showed up with Bolin in tow. When they saw his expression, Korra asked, "Mako? Are you okay?" They both looked on in concern as he fought to compose himself.

"I'm fine."
