Lucy sighed as she made her way to the guild. Another natsu-less day awaited her there. 2 weeks ago Natsu had left on a solo mission to find and defeat the red-nose monster who resided in the outskirts of hargeon. Without Natsu around, Lucy found herself spending a lot more time writing and reading. But that wasn't nearly as much fun as hanging out with Natsu. She loved writing and reading but Natsu had become an integral part of her life. He had become a constant. Her day did not feel complete without Natsu.

"I'll be back before you know it" was the last thing that Natsu had told her before leaving.

But since then it had been 2 weeks without any contact from the fire breathing dragon slayer. Lucy missed him and she wanted to see his goofy grin again.

As she entered the guild she saw a crowd near the bar and wondered what was going made her way to the bar and her heart nearly stopped when she spotted the familiar mane of pink hair. As she got closer she saw his face. There was no mistaking it.

Natsu was back.

"Natsu!"

"Lucy!"

She ran towards him and embraced him in a hug completely ignoring her guild mates who were closely following her actions. Right now all she cared about was Natsu being back. Natsu hugged her back and they stayed like that for a good 30 seconds before parting. It was at this point that Lucy realized that her guild mates were staring at her. She started blushing furiously.

"He-e-y Natsu, ho-w ha-ha-ve you been?"

"Just fine" Natsu replied.

"But why do you seem so nervous?" he inquired. Before Lucy could reply Natsu cut her off "Anyway I'm going to head home now. But what do ya say we go out for dinner later tonight?"

Wait a second, was he asking her out? Nah that was not possible. Natsu was dense and oblivious to anyhting associated with the word 'romance'. He just wanted to have dinner with his best friend since he hadn't seen her in such a long time.

"SS-sure"

"Catch ya later then, Luce" and with that he made his way out of the guild. Lucy was about to take a seat at the bar when Levy tackled her from behind.

" Looks like you're going on a date tonight, Lu-chan", she said.

"I knew it was going to happen sometime soon!" exclaimed Mirajane.

"I want to know everything, Lucy" Erza said while eating her strawberry cake.

Lucy started blushing. "It's not a date, it's just two friends having dinner"

Cana smirked "Yeah right". Lucy couldn't take this anymore so she walked out of the guild and made her way back to her apartment.

On her way home she pondered over what her friends had said. What if this was a real date and what if Natsu really had feelings for her. Even if he did Lucy was not sure about her own feelings. Did she love Natsu? Had she fallen for his childish charm. She did not know.

She entered her apartment, went to her bedroom and laid down on her bed. Soon she fell into a peaceful slumber. When she woke up

it was almost 6:30. She got out of her bed and started getting ready. She put on a beautiful blue dress. She added some light makeup to her face and left her hair open.

She heard a knock on her window and she knew it was Natsu. She opened the window and let him in. Natsu was wearing a white t-shirt and khaki pants. He looks nice tonight, thought Lucy.

Natsu looked at her and said,"You look nice, Luce" which made Lucy blush.

"TTh-thanks, you look pretty handsome yourself"

Natsu grinned and took her hand in his "Let's go"

Natsu took her to an italian restaurant. The place was not super fancy, yet the service was excellent. Throughout dinner Natsu talked about his mission while Lucy told him what he had missed. They laughed at each others jokes and had a great time together.

After they stepped out of the restaurant, Natsu bent down and whispered in Lucy's ear, "There's a place I want to take you to" and with that he grabbed her hand and started walking to this mysterious place. When they arrived at their destination Lucy was awestruck. Natsu had taken her to the top of a small hill. Lucy could see the moon and all the stars clearly. It was beautiful. Suddenly Natsu put his hands around her waist and pulled her close. He brought his face close to hers and said "There's something I've been wanting to do" and with that he placed his lips on hers. It took Lucy a moment to realise what was happening, buy as soon as she did she closed her eyes and started kissing him back. When they finally pulled apart Natsu smiled at her and said "I love you, Lucy" and it was then that Lucy realised she felt the same way. She did not have any doubts as she said "I love you too, Natsu"
