Beginning
Robin knew that Chrom sometimes made irrational decisions without thinking. He was too trusting - herself being a prime example of that - but this took the cake. Mmm, cake, she thought wistfully before shaking her head and snapping out of it.
"You're serious?" She asked for what had to be the fifth or sixth time. Frederick nodded by her side. Chrom gave a frustrated sigh, yet again, and ran his hands through his midnight hair.
"I swear, Robin. He can be trusted."
"But how do you know that?" Robin stressed, pulling at the ends of her long rosy pink hair in exasperation. "He was with a group of people that tried to kill The Exalt - your own sister!"
"I am inclined to agree with Robin, milord." Frederick put in, not shying away as Chrom gave him a betrayed look. Robin, on the other hand, widened her grey eyes at this. Frederick never agreed with her on anything.
"Hey, blue." A voice called from their right and all heads swung toward the sound. The red haired man stuck a lollipop in his mouth and smirked as he continued, "You all know that I'm still standing here, right?"
Robin scoffed at the man and muttered, "Blue? Is he serious?"
"Sweetness, I'm always serious. As long as sweets are involved, 'course. I can smell 'em on you now. Three chocolate bars, two cream puffs and..." He paused for a minute, sniffing in the air. "Do I detect a hint of cinnamon?"
Robin flushed brightly, ignoring the laughter rolling from Chrom. When she glanced at Frederick, she saw that even he was having trouble keeping a completely straight face.
They knew she loved sweets. Gods, the whole damn army did by now. They joked that the cooks had to bring extras just to keep her satisfied. (It wasn't a joke, they really did). She glared at the red head, who was staring steadfastly at her pockets where she kept her delicious treasures. Her hand covered the pocket protectively and he looked back at her face again.
"What did you say your name was again?" Robin asked as she turned to the man, sizing him up and determining just how he would be useful on the battlefield.
"Gaius," was all he said before stepping forward and wrapping an arm around her shoulders. "I believe this is the beginning of a beautifully sweet friendship, sweetness. Now, I may have some things that will interest you - if you're up for a trade."
Robin grimaced and shrugged his arm off of her before sneaking a glance at Chrom. The lord wore a sinfully smug expression and she sighed. She knew she had lost this battle as soon as sweets were mentioned.
"What did you have in mind?" she whispered and Gaius smiled as he began to rummage through his bulging pockets. As he pulled out a handful of candies, she hoped the cooks didn't mind bringing just a little more sweets along now.
A/N: So, this is somewhat of a drabble story of Gaius and Robin. I'm going to be using prompts from the 30 day challenge but I only ever write these when I have severe writers block so don't expect these every day! Please remember, this is just something to help get me writing and something I write purely for fun. That being said - I do like the dynamic between Gaius and Robin in the game and I enjoy writing these very much. Thanks for reading, leave me some feedback! I would love that!
