AN: Hey everyone! R37uy here, and today I bring you all the first chapter of a collection of short stories, all adding into one huge story. Each chapter will be themed after a single Pokémon that will be an OC from Reviewers. Some chapters might not be OC chapters if I don't get any OCs. In each chapter, Ash will catch the OC Pokémon, and his journey will be starting from the very beginning. Ash will be smarter, more mature, and go to multiple regions.
Just so everyone knows, there will be NO pairings in this fic. I don't think evolutions will be included, unless you want your OC to evolve, or I feel that it needs to. Please do not submit Legendarys. I will tell you when I need one. Also, Ash will be able to talk with his Pokémon. This will allow for more possible plot.
When submitting a character, please list the following:
Species
Gender
Nickname
Personality
Likes
Dislikes
These are needed for the story. Please do not forget any of the above.
Anyways, you should all have guessed what Pokémon Chapter 1 is about, so here we go! Happy Reading!
Catching Them All
Chapter 1: Pikachu
"Ash! Dinner's ready!" Delia called upstairs.
"Coming, Mom," Ash said, coming down the steps. He had raven black hair, brown eyes, and a small scar on one cheek in the shape of a lightning bolt. Ash wore a red hat with a white front and a green pokeball logo. He wore a blue jacket with a black t-shirt underneath.
Ash sat in his spot at the dinner table. "Mm…" He said, taking a bite out of his salad. "You are always going to be my favorite cook."
"Why, thank you Ash," Delia said, smiling. "By the way, have you decided on what Pokémon you want?"
"Yes, I have," Ash responded with a grin. "This year, Professor Oak is giving out a special starter to the first one to help him fill the Pokedex. It's a Pikachu."
"That sounds lovely, dear," Delia said. "I hope you do well. I know you will make me proud."
"Well, I'll be off to bed," Ash said, putting his plate in the dish washer. "I don't want to be late to Professor Oak's place." With that, he said goodnight to Delia, and went to bed. In his sleep, he dreamed about his upcoming journey.
Ash awoke with a yawn and looked out his window. "Good," he said out loud. "Just on time." The sun was just beginning to rise over the treetops as Ash said goodbye to his mom and left for Oak's. About five minutes of walking later, he arrived. 'Looks like I'm the first one here,' he thought.
Ash knocked on the large doors of the laboratory, and a man with short, grey hair answered. "Why hello, there!" He said jollily. "You must be Ash. You're just on time. I'm Professor Oak. Please, follow me." Professor Oak led Ash to a large room with three pokeballs on a table in the middle.
"Would you like one of the normal starter Pokémon, or would you like to help fill the Pokedex, and get a Pikachu? You will also get the National Pokedex upgrade on your pokedex," Professor oak said.
"I would like the second option, please," Ash answered.
"Good choice. Now, follow me." Professor Oak led Ash to the back of the lab, where Ash stood staring in ah.
"This is where your Pokémon will stay after you get more than six of them," Oak explained, "and this is your Pikachu." A little yellow mouse Pokémon walked up to Ash, and extended a paw in greeting. Ash shook it with a smile.
"One thing though, Ash," Professor Oak informed. "This Pikachu doesn't like being in its pokeball, so it will need to stay out of it at all times. Are you sure you want him? I can always give you a different starter."
"Don't worry, Professor," Ash said kindly. "If Pikachu doesn't like his ball, then he doesn't have to use it."
Pikachu was impressed with Ash's kindness. "I think I like you, Ash," he said.
"I like you too, Pikachu," Ash responded, causing Pikachu to jump in surprise.
"Did you just understand me?!" Pikachu asked.
"Yeah, I've been able to since I was a baby," Ash answered.
"Ah, so it's true," Professor Oak said with a smile. "You can talk with Pokémon!" He had been watching the two with interest. "Anyways, let's get you your pokedex and pokeballs!"
Ash followed Professor Oak into a room in the lab, and was suited up with all the things he needed to be a trainer.
"Good luck on your journey Ash!" Professor Oak said as Ash began to walk off towards his next destination. "Keep in touch!"
"I will, Professor! See you later!" Ash walked down the road, and onto Route 1. Right as he left the town's borders, he saw a majestic rainbow bird-like Pokémon fly over a nearby rainbow. Ash gasped. "Ho-oh…" Ash knew about Ho-oh. He had read about it in the library. He also knew that seeing Ho-oh meant that he had good luck ahead of him, and walked off towards Viridian City, with Pikachu on his Shoulder, hopes held high.
AN: Like I said, the chapters are going to be short, but there will be a lot of them. Stay tuned for more!
