Wreckage and Roadside Debris
Wheatley blacked out as the car rolled over. He sat there as it rolled, no signs of life detectable. An ambulance finally came when the car rolled its last. His head was on the deflated airbag, glasses shattered. Wheatley was deeply cut in his cheek, so deeply cut you could see his jaw and teeth, his eye black and puffed up, femur shattered, he also had a dislocated shoulder and broken collarbone. The EMTs thought he wasn't alive, but the faintest flicker of life fought inside of Wheatley to stay alive. The road was littered with debris. A tear managed to slide down his face, landing on the wound that his cheek suffered, putting him into an unimaginable pain, so painful that even burning alive wouldn't compare to it. The EMTs worked to get Wheatley patched up, oxygenated and his heart beating well again. His eye flickered open, his left eye swollen shut, but everything was blurry, since Wheatley hadn't his glasses. He began to slip into a contented sleep. 'Call my wife.' He mumbled, wincing painfully as his cheek began to burn. He couldn't move his left arm, as his collarbone was shattered.
Wheatley lie in the hospital bed, and glanced toward the door as his wife came into the hospital room. "'ello, honey. How are you?" "I'm fine." Sydney said, looking at his painful state. Ellii walked into the room, and a tear rolled down her face as she saw what had happened. "Daddy! Please don't tell me you've been in a car accident. I didn't tell you to be safe. It's my fault." She said, and began softly weeping, her blue eyes glassy. "Ellii, it's not your fault, it's Her fault. GLaDOS did it. She knocked me over with her SUV, and then I just began rolling uncontrollably." He growled angrily. "Dad, I knew you were hurt, I knew it because I had a feeling something was wrong with you. I felt you weren't okay. I prayed that it was just a bad feeling, but I was right. I cried and cried and prayed you were okay. We came to the hospital and asked for you, they told us your room, and I almost cried but I didn't." Ellii said.
"I want to tell you something. I had to fight to stay alive. My spark was just a dying ember, but God relit it. Guess 'e decided it wasn't my time, hmm?" Wheatley said. "Yeah, I guess so. I'm really glad He decided it wasn't your time, because I would have been really sad, and I would have been mad too." She said, eyes warily watching the monitors. Ellii grasped his hand, being careful not to hit his IV. "Do you need an extra blanket?" Sydney asked. "Yeah. It's bloody frigid in here." Sydney got him a blanket and he welcomed the warmth of it. "I'm glad God decided to forgive me for everything I had done." He said, smiling. He yawned. "Oh, I forgot, I got you a spare pair of glasses last month with my allowance so if something ever happened to them you could have a spare pair. Here." Ellii said, gently putting them on his face. "Thanks sweetheart." Wheatley responded.
"Your doctor told Mum they would relocate your shoulder in a few minutes, but they'd give you painkillers before so you wouldn't feel it." Elli chirped. "Actually, I could do that myself, no damage." He replied, slightly chuckling. He lifted his left arm up, and they heard a loud popping noise. Wheatley rolled his shoulder to make sure it really was back in place. "Did you actually feel that?" Ellie inquired. "No, I actually didn't." Wheatley replied. Soon it was night, and they had all eaten dinner. Ellii had fallen asleep in the recliner left of him, and Sydney in the right. He got up, kissed them both, used the restroom, and went back to bed.
