A Close Call.

In episode 1.3 Niska goes to a pub for a drink and a guy comes over to chat her up. They go back to his place and if you've seen the ep, you know what happens next. This is my take on Greg's next day at work, thinking about the night before. The characters of Rick and Cassie are from my imagination and were not in the episode.

Greg was sitting at his desk staring into space, his work spread all around him. A cup of hot coffee growing colder by the minute was untouched. His thoughts were disturbed by a scrunched up piece of paper hitting him on the head.

"Earth to Greg, come in Greg."

"Oh, sorry Rick, I was miles away."

"I noticed, hey, how'd you make out last night with that Blonde bird I saw you chatting up?"

"Pretty good at first Rick. I invited her back to my place no problem there, I poured a glass of wine for us both and asked her name, she said it was Candy, but I wasn't so sure it was. Then she said, "Why are we talking? Don't you want to take me to bed?"

"Gee, fast worker."

"I thought she was rushing things and I was a bit wary, so I said let's talk for awhile. She then asked where the loo was and while she was there I was tidying things up a bit. She came back into the room and kind of crept up on me. She noticed the picture of Cassie & me; I told her it was my weekend with my daughter and I was still cleaning up, then she walked out the door while my back was turned."

"She What?"

"Yeah, but the weirdest thing was one of my carving knives was on the seat near the lounge I was fixing up for us both to sit on."

"Maybe she was a psycho killer, like a black widow, looking for young males, or better yet, a preying mantis looking to mate and then chop your head off! Blimey, I think you dodged a bullet on that one mate."

"Yeah, it was a close call."
