Alek watched a comet streaking through the night sky. He knew humans wished upon shooting stars and remembered doing so with his parents. Yet Alek didn't believe in wishing upon them now that he knew the truth. Comets weren't just shooting stars; they were dying stars.
Once they'd reminded him of his people, but now he thought of the Uniter. His people were no longer dying. Soon they would be united. Their futures were now as bright as the comet and their destinies far greater. Alek smiled. He no longer hoped; now he dreamed dreams he knew would come true.
