Disclaimer: I don't own Hetalia. Simple as that.
Italy was at another boring World Meeting. He always hates going because all the other nations pick on him. They always point out his weaknesses, never his strength. This meeting was no different, or so he thought.
Germany had just called a thirty minute lunch and bathroom break. Italy was glad. He needed to get away from all the negative comments the other nations were making. "Don't they think I already know how weak I am?" Italy said to himself softly. He was getting ready to enter the bathroom when he heard France and Prussia.
"How does your brother put up with Italy? He's so weak and annoying." France asked. "A better question would be: How does Italy put up with Germany? He's always so mean to him. I mean it was kinda funny at first, but now it's not. It's sad really." Italy left, deciding he didn't want to hear anymore. In fact he left the meeting and went home.
After the break, everyone met back up in the conference room. Well, everyone except for Italy. "Japan have you seen Italy?" Germany asked his ally. I saw him before the break, but that was the last time I saw him." "Thanks Japan. I'm going to go call him before starting the meeting again." Germany said as he wlked out the door.
Once he was in the hall he called his best (and only) friend. "Hello?" Italy sounded dejected. "Italy it's Germany I-" He was cut off by Italy saying, "I know. I shouldn't have left the meeting." Germany was shocked. "Well there's that, but I was actually calling to see if you were alright." Now it was Italy's turn to be shocked. "Oh... Hey Germany, why are you so mean to me?" Germany sighed. "I'm sorry if I seem mean Italy. It's just that I know you can do better, so I push you to be your best." Italy smiled. "You're a good friend Germany." Italy said. "I'm glad we're friends." Germany smiled even though Italy couldn't see. "Yeah, so am I."
