They rode in silence pierced by their stomachs growling. Their tails hung limply; their fur was slick with sweat. They were crossing a river when JD spotted movement in the water. Without warning, he slipped from his horse and leapt into the river.
Buck grabbed his horse's reins right before Beavis could walk into Milagro. He glared at the thrashing Siamese. "Of all the irresponsible - !" he grumbled, his mustache twitching, but stopped as he smelled the sweet scent of fish.
He joined JD. The team laughed as the two surfaced with fish in their mouths, then rushed to join them.
