Another Thomas rewrite, this time it's "Steady Eddie" from Season 12. Enjoy and comment.
Edward is the oldest engine on Sir Topham Hatt's railway. Even though he is old, he is still really useful, and the steadiest of them all.
One morning, Edward puffed into Brendam Docks.
"Good morning!" he puffed.
Then, Sir Topham Hatt arrived.
"The new brass water-wheel has just arrived from the mainland." he boomed. "It is magnificent indeed! It will be displayed by the water-works at Great Waterton."
The engines were excited. They couldn't wait to see the magnificent water-wheel.
"Edward, you will take the wheel to Great Waterton."
Edward beamed from buffer to bolier!
The other engines were surprised.
"I chose you Edward because you are the steadiest engine on Sodor." said Sir Topham Hatt. "Make sure to take the Express line!"
Gordon gasped. Edward was going to use his Express line!"
Cranky loaded the water-wheel onto Edward's flatbed, and Edward slowly puffed away.
Edward puffed towards the Express line junction.
On his way, he saw Thomas.
"You are really lucky to be carrying a very special special!" said Thomas.
Edward was very happy.
However, Edward wanted to show people the new water-wheel, so he took the main line, instead of the Express line!
Edward puffed through the countryside, feeling very happy.
At every station, people clapped and cheered! They loved the new water-wheel!
Edward felt very grand.
Soon, Edward stopped at another junction.
"The track ahead is in need of repair!" said the signalman.
The track ahead led to the school.
Edward wanted to see the schoolchildren, so he chuffed down the broken track.
The track was very bumpy indeed.
At the school, children cheered and cheered!
Edward however, didn't see a red signal up ahead!
He quickly applied his brakes, just in time!
Just then, an idea flew into Edward's funnel.
"I should puff up Gordon's hill, it's the fastest way to Great Waterton!"
Edward puffed slowly up Gordon's hill.
The water-wheel was very heavy, so Edward had to pull it very slowly.
At last, he reached the top of the hill!
But then, it happened. The water-wheel fell off Edward's flatbed!
Worse was to follow! The water-wheel landed on Gordon's flatbed! Gordon was heading to the smelter's yard!
Edward had to chase Gordon down. He had to save the water-wheel!
Gordon soon arrived at the smelter's yard, followed by Edward!
Gordon was very surprised to see Edward, and the water-wheel was saved!
The water-wheel was soon re-attached to Edward, and Edward soon puffed away once more!
When Edward arrived at Great Waterton, the water-wheel was put into place.
Everyone thought the new water-wheel looked magnificent!
