Chapter 1
Hazels P.O.V
5 new schools in the last 3 years, 1 dad that left us and 1 mum that died 4 months and 12 days ago. I'm used to being the new, weird, doesn't fit in kid and I've learnt how to get by with that, keep your head down and don't stick out, I did this well in my pale blue skinny jeans, over sized mustered coloured jumper and batman converse (I have a thing for super heroes) I moved in with my mum's mum the day after the funeral, so now I'm living in Lima, Ohio and going to McKinley High but as far as I care it's just another school with geeks, cheerleaders, jocks and teacher.
I shut my locker door, held on to my books and tried to look to see which way I needed to go. There were so many people I just decided to go to the left and hope for the best. Looking down at the school map and my feet I didn't notice when I was going straight for a couple of guys. "Oh my, I'm so sorry" I said going straight into his chest and dropping the map and some other papers the school had given me.
"It's totally fine" The one I had walked into said as he picked up my stuff. He was cute, like hot god cute; he had olivey skin and dark brown short hair, not to forget his dream like eyes. "My names Jake and this is Rider." He said whilst passing the paper back and gesturing towards his friend who gave a small wave. Rider was much taller than both Jake and I making me feel uncomfortable; he also had a Justin Bieber hair cut making me feel even more uncomfortable.
"Hazel" I said in way of introduction, "New girl, I need to find my class so sorry again and thank you." Meaning of picking up my papers, I was already half way down the hall before I finished meaning I couldn't hear anything they said back if they had. First day and already made an idiot of yourself well done Hazel.
After finishing an hour of mind numbing maths I stumbled out of the door to find my way to the next. I walked into what I thought was my class to look up and see at least 9 kids on plastic red chairs now all looking at me, a quick scan of the class showed me that the two guys I met earlier where sitting in there. You know that shock when you move that was me, I hated anything that meant people where looking at me and they weren't just looking they where staring which was not any different. Their teacher soon turned round when no one was listening. "I'm so sorry; this is definably not creative writing 101 is it?" I looked towards the teacher hoping for soon help to get me out of this situation as painlessly as possible, he had curly hair which looked like it had far too much hair gel in.
"No this is glee club, creative writing is down the hall make a right and first door on your left" He finished with a warm smile, so I nodded thank you and left quickly not really wanting to look back , but still trying to remember where the room was.
Jake's P.O.V
"Hey isn't that the girl from earlier?" Rider said but before I could say anything back Mr. Schuester started to talk again.
"So I've decided that this year we're going to have midyear audiences, so that any new people can" I soon stopped listening. This girl was different I couldn't put my finger on it. She was unmistakably beautiful with blonde half way down her back hair and those striking ice-blue eyes, but she took me for the kind of person who didn't even know they were pretty and I liked that very different from the girls around here. But she seemed so shy and i was almost worried that I'd never see her again, maybe the old Puckerman charm could change that.
