Speed
Author Notes: This is the first thing I have ever written for the Twilight series. I read all four books in four days, so lets hope I didn't miss anything. The story takes place after Edward leaves Isabella in the woods. Let me know what you think of this.
Disclaimer: I do not own Isabella, Edward or Alice. They belong to Stephanie Meyer, and the song Speed belongs to Montgomery Gentry.
Edward Cullen had one thing on his mind as the garage door opened to his extensive car collection. He needed to get away, and he needed to do it fast. He reached into his pocket and pulled out a set of keys. He would be leaving his Volvo at home tonight. He needed something with more speed.
I'm tired of spinning my wheels
I need to find a place where my heart can go to heal
I need to get there pretty quick
Hey mister what you got out on that lot you can sell me in a pinch
He seamed to glide over to the back of the garage as he looked for the perfect car. He pulled the cover off a smaller vehicle, and the dust flew all over the room. A dark purple convertible was reveled. It was old, older than anything else in the garage, other than himself.
Maybe one of them souped up muscle cars
The kind that makes you think you're stronger than you are
Color don't matter no I don't need leather seats
All that really concerns me is
His hands slid over the perfect paint as he reached for the door. He slid inside and started the engine. A loud rumble filled the garage as he pulled it into reverse. The quicker he left Forks the quicker he could get Isabella Swan out of his mind. The quicker he could forget the way he left her alone in the woods.
Speed
How fast will it go
Can it get me
Over her quickly
Zero to sixty
Can it outrun her memory
Yeah, what I really need
Is an open road
And a whole lot of speed
Edward took the long way out of town, avoiding the road past the Swan household. The windows were rolled down, and the radio was blaring. He tried to remove the brown haired girl from his mind, but nothing was working.
Throw me them keys so I can put some miles between us
Tear off that rearview mirror there's nothing left to see here
Let me lean on that gas
Oh she catches up fast
So give me
The towns began to blend together after he reached the state line. It didn't matter where he was headed. He just needed to put space between him and his heart, the only thing that he left with Bella. He ran his hand through his hair and sighed. Another sign came into view and he pushed the accelerator to the floor.
Speed
How fast will it go
Can it get me
Over her quickly
Zero to sixty
Can it outrun her memory
Yeah, what I really need
Is an open road
And a whole lot of speed
He barley noticed as he flew past another state border. He was drifting farther away from Bella, and that was all that mattered. He could almost imagine her face as she realized there was nothing left. Edward groaned. This was turning out to be harder than he had imagined.
That's what I need
I'm tired of spinning my wheels
He began to slow down as he reached his destination, a small house came into view. He came to a stop in front of the cottage, and shut off his car. He stepped out into the darkness. A small black haired women appeared right beside him.
"Alice." He mumbled.
"I saw you coming." She broke the silence. "Come on, lets go hunt." She took off into the woods.
Edward nodded in return, and raced after her.
