Cut out pictures of both of them lay strewn on his already disorganized desk. Booth scrunched up his eyes in concentration as he cut out a picture of Bones with particularly flyaway hair. The project was taking a lot longer than anticipated, and he wasn't even sure the results would be worth it.

"Her eyes…My nose…. Her legs…."

He muttered almost incoherently.

He knew it was completely wrong, they were only partners after all, and she'd never shown anything more than friendship towards him, but he had wanted to make "Baby photos" of the children that they would probably never have, essentially using photocopies of his 'Bones and I' photo collection. He was fully aware that he had got the idea from watching the movie "How to lose a guy in 10 days", which certainly did not bode well for their 'relationship',

"Or lack of one…" He thought dryly. Finally their first 'Child' was created. She wasn't exactly beautiful, complete with a muscular torso and a lump of a nose [both his.] However, whatever her faults were, her beautiful, dark-rimmed, liquid-blue eyes [Definitely not his J] made up for it.

It dawned on Booth that he was completely obsessed with her eyes. This, in turn, reminded him of the confession that he wanted to make to her (but would never be able to) He spoke the words aloud almost unconsciously,

"Bones, I have something to tell you.."

"What is it Booth?"

Asked a very, very familiar voice, the same one that penetrated his dreams every night. His head snapped up, and he tossed every piece of photo into a not-so-empty drawer before closing it and turning to the woman who was the centre of his world (Yet seemed perfectly oblivious to it.)

She was completely unaware of his quick desk clean and had a confused look on her flawless face.

He gave her a winning smile that became a guilty grimace under her watchful eyes.

"What did you want to tell me, Booth?!" She demanded.

He cast her question away easily with a slightly-too-casual

"Oh, nothing."

"Oh. Well…" (She seemed a little disoriented by his sudden change of expression) "I brought a coffee for you, just how you like it!"

He had no idea what he had done to deserve such an amazing, beautiful partner.

"Thank you Bones, thank you so much." He gushed.

She paused, completely oblivious to the numerous reasons for his response.

"It's only coffee, Booth." She replied.

"I know that.." he sighed, his eye falling on a stray photo that he hadn't yet cut- Of her as Roxie in a revealing dress, as wishing with all his heart that it wasn't just coffee that they shared every morning.
