Everyone wonders what happened to that quite little town known as Neptune Ca. from rapes, to murders, to gang activity, this city has been torn apart. But this quite city has hope thanks to the Mars family who was caught up in the middle of this little cities problems. Veronica Mars and her father Keith have lived in Neptune as long as they could remember. Keith used to be sheriff of Neptune until Veronica's best friend Lilly, daughter of software mogul Jake Kane, was brutally murdered in her back yard.
Veronica became very close to longtime boyfriend of Lilly and son of movie stars Aaron and Lynn Echolls, Logan. This is the story about how there barely friendship blossomed into a story of love, lust, and loss.
"DAD I'm headed off to school… ill be by your office later!" screamed Veronica Mars from the front door. She was gone before her dad could say ok honey. She wanted to get to school as soon as possible; it was the first day of her junior year. On her way to school in her trusty le baron her phone rang, it was Logan, the last person on her list of who she wanted to talk to. She picked up anyways with a less than happy "what now jackasses don't have to be at school until twelve."
Well as Logan felt the love he almost hung up, but you see, he had a problem, a very big problem. "Well Ronnie" he said sarcastically…"I have a job for you. And I can pay you double what you ask for if you want." This intrigued Veronica because she needed to do a little high-tech snoop shopping if she wanted to continue searching for Lilly's killer.
"Ok, meet me in the girl's bathroom with the out of order sign on the door first thing. I hate doing business with you over the phone." She said that last part with her best sarcastic southern bell accent she could muster. After that Logan hung up. No ok, good bye or anything that showed in any way that he understood what she said. At that moment Veronica realized that she was at school and parked. She had last track of what she was doing when the incoherent jackass called her. She raced passed Logan's ugly yellow jeep and to the nearest girls restroom slapping an out of order sign on it as she went in. two minutes later Logan Echolls casually strolls in with his cheeks turning redder than the tank top Veronica was wearing at the time.
"So why the fuck did you want to mean in a fucking girls bathroom? I'm not very comfortable being in her without some chick trying to pull off my clothes" Logan stated as he winked at Veronica.
"As much as I'd love to savagely rip of your clothes potty mouth, I told you to meet me here because of the privacy….." she emphasized privacy. "So what's your big important problem Logan?"
"It's my sister, I think Trina has been stealing money out of my bank account… someone used my card at the Neptune grand and she said that's where she was staying"
Veronica quickly said whatever she could to try and stick up for Trina but didn't make such a convincing argument. She finally said "ok, ill look into it, but my sleuthing skills don't come cheap."
"Ok here's a one thousand dollar down payment, I will give you more once you find out some dirt." After he handed the money to Veronica she counted it. When she finished she looked up about to say something but he was already gone.
Veronica then said to herself "hhhmmm, guess he just couldn't stand knowing he wasn't gonna get sex for being in the girls bathroom." She quietly left and left the sign on the door for the psychotic 09er bitches who use that bathroom to suffer. Than she jolted off to her locker while digging through her backpack to see what her first period was. When she found it she had already reached her locker and met her locker buddy, a kid named Wallace Fennel who she thought she could benefit from getting to know since he worked in the office for a period so she asked him to meet her at lunch. She then looked at her schedule and realized, "CRAP! I have first period journalism with Logan and Duncan!"
