It's time
"Okay people, we've only got less than twenty four hours. Let's move it!"
Amity Park, a quiet little town, was now bustling with activity. Policemen were giving orders, workers were hammering away. People ran to and fro. Cars honked, lawn mowers growled. Paintbrushes dipped, swished, swirled.
And everyone was excited.
"Hey Danny, can you help me with this?"
"Sure thing mom." Danny Fenton hopped off the podium and transformed, corkscrewing out as Danny Phantom.
"Never seen that one before," Maddie smiled as her son picked up the board. "I like it." Danny grinned.
"Thanks. But I've got an even better one for tomorrow. The fans will flip."
"I'm sure they will. They've been waiting for this for a while and even I can't believe it's finally happening." She gave her son a slight hug. "Are you nervous?" Danny shrugged.
"A little. It's been years since I've had an audience and I don't wanna mess it up for them, ya know? They mean a lot to me."
Mrs. Fenton patted his head. "You'll do fine. If they love you after all these years, I'm positive that they will still love you no matter what." The ghost boy rubbed the back of his neck, blushing furiously.
"Thanks mom. I better go check out the rest of Amity if they need any help. Can you handle it from here?" She nodded and he went afloat.
"Don't forget to grab some more fudge at the store! Your dad ate the last carton."
"Kay mom!" He waved goodbye, chuckling. "Man Dad must be really excited for this."
The ghost kid soared around, greeting each busy body along the way.
"Hey Danny!"
"Hey Mr. Lancer! Keep up the good work!"
"Don't worry Miss Kimberly; I'm sure any outfit will look great for your part in the mall scene."
"Ooh, did you plant tulips? Nice one Undergrowth! The viewers will appreciate the background change."
"Here, let me help."
Gradually, the former Amity Park was restored, shining proudly with its golden age glory. Danny marveled at the sight once more before joining the stars and an old friend above.
"Still nervous, I see."
Danny nodded.
"It's the show's tenth anniversary; who wouldn't be? We've all been working hard, but is it enough? I have no idea what the fans want." He sighed, rubbing his hands through his hair. "Are we ready? Will they like it? What do you think Clockwork?
"I think," the Time Master slowly faced his ward. A ghost of a smile played of his lips.
"Everything is as it should be."
In honor of Danny Phantom's 10th anniversary. Based on rumors that a surprise will happen soon (tomorrow)
