Dogs Dream as Dogs Do
Little dog Max was cosy and snug,
Deep in his crib, tucked under a rug.
Snow floated outside, winter was out there,
But at home he was warm, and without a care.
…
With his eyes closed he dreamed pleasant drams,
Of dog treats galore, of fields and streams.
No cats, no cares, just the mind of a dog.
One with the freedom and pleasures of gods.
…
His leg gives a jerk, when opens the door,
His ears, they twitch, to footsteps on floor.
His owner, she's back, all's right in the world,
But right now he's asleep, as his dreams unfurl.
…
For he is a dog, known as Man's best friend.
He'll spring up in joy when at last this dream ends.
For he's warm in the winter, all cosy an snug,
For deep is his sleep, deep under a rug.
