JKR, not me.

Cute little Wood and Harry fic.

H2O

"Wood…?"

Harry entered the locker room. The game had ended over two hours ago; they had lost. Oliver had not turned up at dinner, so, on Fred and George's suggestion, Harry went to check on him.

"Wood?" Harry called out again. He checked the showers: empty. He walked then towards the ice bath (even though it's a Muggle thing, it is quite helpful for Bludger wounds, you know). As Harry came closer, he saw the top of someone's head just under the water.

"OLIVER!" Harry ran towards the ice bath. Wood was under the water, and certainly didn't seem conscious. With great effort, Harry pulled his Quidditch captain out of the icy water. His lips and fingers were kissed with a bluish tint. Wood's naked skin was freezing cold. Harry grabbed a towel and wrapped Oliver in it.

He still wasn't breathing.

"Wood! Wood, wake up! Can you hear me!?" Harry pulled Oliver into a sitting position, and thumped him on the back. Wood stirred slightly and coughed out a lot of water. Harry hit him again, until the rest of the water had splashed out onto the floor.

Oliver began to shiver violently, but he was breathing. His unfocused eyes turned towards Harry as Harry reached for another towel.

"Potter?" he said weakly.

"Oh, thank Merlin, you're alive! Okay, er, can you… can you breathe okay?"

"I…think so. Thanks, Potter… I knew I should have gotten out but I, well…thank you."

Harry looked at his Quidditch captain.

"It's my duty," he flashed a cheeky smile, and made a mock salute. Both boys laughed. Then Wood flushed embarrassedly.

"I should…probably get dressed…"

"Oh, er, yeah," Harry blushed too. "D'you want me to…shall I just leave then?"

"No, it's okay. I'll just be a minute."

Harry walked towards the locker room door, and inhaled the scent of the pitch as he walked out into the cool, evening air. He turned as he heard Wood emerging behind him. A great understanding had passed between the boys. They were more than teammates: they were friends.
