This story came about while listening to Mobile by Avril Lavgne. Just a reminder that I own nothing except the storyline. Thanks

It was a cold and windy day. A little seven year old girl was making her way slowly home. She had two blond pigtails sticking out from under her beanie.
Just as she rounded the last corner to her street a snowflake fell down and landed on her nose.
"Just about there." she mumbled to herself.
She'd had a busy day at school. Playing hop scotch with her friends at break time and doing a pretty painting for her mummy in art had kept her busy because she had wanted to finish it by the end of today so that she could give it to her when she got home. The reason she had made the picture was because her mummy had been sad lately and the little girl had wanted to cheer her up.
She had just reached the gate so she
unlatched the door and walked up the garden path. It was snowing even
harder as the little girl got to her front door. She pulled a key out
of her pocket which was safely pinned to the inside pocket (so she
wouldn't loose it) and opened the door.
As she walked into the
warm house the boots and coats were quickly discarded.
"Mummy!! Mummy!"
A young woman came from the kitchen. She had blond hair and hazel eyes.
"Oh good your home Katie. Guess what I've got a surprise for you."
"Mummy I got a surprise for you to."
The mother smiled. It was the first smile the little girl Katie had seen for a while.
"Well, Katie why don't you tell me what your surprise is and then I'll tell you mine."
"Ok mummy. I just have to goes and gets it." With that said Katie picked up her bag and pulled out her picture.
"This is for you mummy. I hope it makes you feel better."
The mother opened the painting and saw it was very colourful.
"This is beautiful Katie. I'm soo proud of you but why would you think that I'm not feeling well sweetheart?"
"You've been sad mummy so I thought my picture would cheer you up. Has it mummy?" Katie stared at her mother with an anxious expression.
"Yes you have Katie. It's beautiful. Now would you like your surprise."
"Oh yes please." Katie stood there with an excited smile on her face.
"Well Katie guess what?"
"What?"
"We are going to Australia with Peter. You remember Peter don't you?"
"He was that man that smelt funny wasn't he. Oh I can't wait to tell Lucy and Sarah."
The girl was jumping up with glee. Then she stopped. "Mummy when are we coming back? Lucy and Sarah are going to want to know."
The mother looked at the child. "Sweetheart why don't we go into the lounge room and sit down."
Katie and her mother went into the lounge room and sat down on the couch. Katie stared at her mother while the mother took her daughter's hands into hers.
"Katie we aren't going back. We are going to Australia to live there for ever."
Katie just stared at her mother in surprise. "Have I done something wrong mummy? If I have I'm sorry I didn't mean to but please mummy I don't want to go. Say we don't have to go please." Katie was begging her mother now. Tears were falling down her cheeks.
"Shh Katie." She pulled Katie into a hug and held her as she soothed the child. "Katie you haven't done anything wrong, you've been my perfect little angel. The reason we are going is that Peter is going back there to live and I'd miss him Katie. I'd be sad, you don't want me sad do you?"
Katie looked up at her mother, "No mummy I don't want you to cry. I'm sorry mummy I didn't mean to make you sad."
"Shh sweetie it's not your fault but we are going. Anyway I have to go and finish cooking dinner. Will you be alright?"
Katie just nodded and said in a quiet voice. "When are we going?"
"In a couple of weeks." was the answer as her mother walked out the door.
Well what did you think? I'd love to hear your opinions thank, Fantasy
