Yes yes I know I'm supposed to be working on the mistaken hero but I got this idea and it wouldn't leave me alone. So has anyone noticed that Piper McCloud from the girl who could fly has an awfully similar name to Piper McLean from the Heroes of Olympus series? What if they were the same person? If you haven't read the Girl who could fly you don't have to to understand this at first. It starts when the Lost Hero does, so way after the events in The Girl who could fly. Some of those characters like Smitty and Conrad or Kimber might be coming in later. Jasper definetly will. So for this, we're going to assume that Jason cant fly and Piper didn't get thrown off the railing in the beginning of the book. Also her father didn't get kidnapped. Because the existence of the kids with powers is a secret, she didn't share her powers with anyone. So on with the story! But I own nothing!
Summary: Piper's Ma died one year after the events of The Girl Who Could Fly. Soon after, Pa admits that she wasn't her real mother, but her real mother left after she was born. Piper is understandably upset, and that combined with Ma's death, she starts ignoring Pa. She would only really talk to Conrad and the rest of the power kids. Eventually, they moved away from Lowland Country, coming to New York, where, coincidentally Conrad was going to college early at the age of 15. Piper's father acted in a play and was asked to continue acting. He gave another name and changed Piper's last name to McLean. He got famous, while Piper got sent to reformatory school for thievery.
Piper McCloud- oh sorry McLean- was finally starting to enjoy herself at Wildernes Survival school when that dreaded field trip happened. She'd just been settling in with Jason and Leo for a nap when Jason jolted to awareness.
She looked over, concerned to see him wildly looking around, freaking out a little.
"You okay, Jase?" she asked.
Jason turned to look at her, calming down. "Sorry, who are you?"
Piper looked weirded out but asked,"What do you mean? I'm Piper McLean, one of your best friends!"
Jason's eyes suddenly widened,"I don't know who I am!"
"Whoa! Amnesia!" exclaimed Piper.
Suddenly, Leo's head popped out over the seat. "What's this about amnesia?"
Piper explained, but Leo looked skeptical. "Is this to get back at the shaving cream on jello thing?"
Jason calmly explained."No, I am fairly certain that I am not supposed to be here. I should be somewhere else entirely".
"No way, man!" exclaimed Leo,"You've been here for almost two months now!"
They continued explaining that he was supposed to be here until the bus stopped and Grover, a strange kid with a muscular disease in his legs asked to talk to Jason.
"Look", Grover quickly explained,"At first I thought you were a monster, but you smell like a half blood, so, how did you manipulate the mist so well?"
Jason looked confused,"What are you talking about?"
Grover blushed bright red,"Sorry, never mind that. Go back to your friends!" He limped away slowly.
"Well that was weird", muttered Jason. He walked back to Piper and Leo, who were looking slightly concerned.
Their chaperone reminded them to do the worksheet and let them loose on the Grand Canyon.
