Hello! This is my first ever submitted fan fiction…I kind of intended it
to be a short story but it came out as a sort of a prologue…well, anyway,

kind…this is my very first time to have others read my work. Hopefully, I
got the name of the characters correctly!(
THE POWER OF LOVE
Serena and Darien will be torn up by lies but destiny will bring them together in a final battle…so as they will learn the most powerful of all forces…LOVE.
Prologue
She finally had the courage to look up and stare into his eyes…and was shocked to see such turbulent emotions in them…making his eyes blacker which made her want to sink into its depth…she didn't understand why he was staring at her so intensely and what was in its turbulent depths…she only knew that her face was growing warm and her heart was thudding against her rib cage…
Slowly, he cupped her chin with his one hand and pulled her close using the other…
"Serena, don't you not know how much I love you? How much I want you? How much I long for you?", he said very softly, so softly that she almost did not hear it against the pounding of her heart. How much she dreamed of this moment to come…how much she longed to hear those words from the only man she had and will ever love…
"But Darien, we can't…"
"Ssshh…", he touched her mouth very delicately with his forefinger. "No doubts now, my love…I will only stop if you tell me that you don't love me. Don't you love me Serena? Am I making a total fool of myself here?"…he dropped his hand from her chin and slowly pulled away…
She was torn…torn between her love for him and the kingdom that she must protect…"why can't it be?" she thought, "what makes us so different? Though he comes from the very race our ancestors had sworn against…why does my heart tell me otherwise? Or am I being deceived by my emotions?"
"Darien, we must end this…", she finally decided and experienced a pain in her heart so sharp, she almost lost her footing, "…I cannot jeopardize my kingdom for my foolishness…I cannot…", she sobbed then…her knees touched the soft earth…
"Foolishness? Do you call our love foolishness? Or is it because you do not really love me and just used me so that I will not wield my power upon you and your pathetic little kingdom? Did you Serena? Did you?", he was getting so angry and so hurt, she knew…his words were only a result of his emotions…she continued to sob and felt the pain double, knowing that she had caused him such grief…
"Darien, leave me be. I do not love you…", and with that, she sprouted back her wings and flew towards the moon…towards the kingdom she must protect…how it hurt her to lie to him…but the oracle said that their love cannot be and if ever they acted upon it, destruction of the entire moon kingdom will be the consequence…
Darien looked up to the flying heavenly creature that he so truly loved one last time…"if that's what you want Serena, then so be it…my heart will always love you but I must also follow my destiny as you are so bent to follow yours. I never wished to battle you, but if battle you I must, then know that my love can only protect you but never your kingdom…"
Somewhere, a cackling laugh could be heard…"fools! Is your love not that strong enough to look beyond the lying oracle that I made it to be? Darien, my love, you will be mine and so is the moon kingdom…and you will witness the death of your beloved Serena", she spat out, "…a death which will be done by you…", she laughed again and again against the darkness of her abode.
