"Certain things they should stay the way they are. You ought to be able to stick them in one of those big glass cases and just leave them alone. I know that's impossible, but it's too bad anyway."
J.D. SALINGER
CATCHER IN THE RYE
She was sitting on the edge of her bed and had been for quite some time. Cross-legged and staring at a collection of Polaroid's on the wall in front of her. Myers had affectionately christened her collection the bureaus' 'wall of fame' but it was another friend's handwriting scribbled on a post-it, plastered in the center of the unintentional collage.
Life at MONSTER'S INC.
The post-it was the object of her attention, although, occasionally her eyes would drift to gaze upon one of her less frequent photo subjects.
There was a certain similarity in their behaviors, neither of them particularly enjoyed being stared at. It had taken Liz many months and a lot of persuasion for Red to even consider allowing her to take his picture. The end result was not pretty, a momentary snapshot, preserving only the slightly blurry side of her friends face.
She had been sitting next to him on his beat-up old couch watching 'City Lights'. She had been much to comfortable to move so the picture had been taken from close up.
Occasionally she wondered if he still would have allowed her to take the picture if she'd gotten up.
